You think they still keep Rush? I guess the question depends on if White progressed at all or not but it's not like Rush had a good preseason in 18 either.
Curious if they would want to go back to 2 QBs if they get stuck at WR/CB DL etc

My initial reaction too. White or Rush but not both. One goes to PS.

Good job night. This shows us how bad this draft was for 2019

It may be bad for starters in 2019, but I think it pays off a bunch in 2020, when M Collins, T Crawford, R Quinn, L Collins, B Jones all couls be gone. If we are able to keep a few of the draftees on practice squad, might work out.

When there were safeties on the board that could compete to start this year. I wonder if Stephen did this to not help Garrett in his final year

Just think they saw the need at 3 tech DT as greater than S. I tend to agree.
I dont. Not for this season. Let's say both players are tracking rookie of the year. Safety will be able to get 80-90% of the snaps. DT be lucky to get 50% of the snaps with marinelli and his rotations. We are paying a pro bowl 105 million de to play 71% of snaps

For better or worse, in our system and according to Marinelli, 3 tech is the most important position. He thinks if you get immediate penetration up the middle, you really disrupt the offense. Not saying I agree with the approach per se, but that’s the thinking as to why DT over S.

Yeh I'll take what an 0-16 coach says with a grain of salt.

depends on how White plays in preseason and shows that he can be a reliable back up. if he looks lost, rush is still the best option as back up QB.

I loved our Draft

The fact THill and McGovern have to fight for time is only showing how strong our team is

Pollard and Weber are legit and MJackson just might be the FS you are looking for to challenge XWoods

JJackson, JJelks and DWilson have to prove they are Hot Boyz

Aren't you allowed to keep an emergency QB on the roster that doesn't count as one of the 53? If so that opens up one spot. We also probably only carry 6 LB's.

That opens up 2 spots.

Wise, JJackson, and Jelks probably competing for those 3. If Gregory is suspended then all 3 might make the roster to start the year.
They don't do that anymore

You can't cut CRush loose at this point..... too much invested so a 7th LB or 9th OL makes the team

Killer, you're thinking of the game day active roster in regards to the inactive third quarterback.

Teams are allowed to only have 2 active QBs on the game day roster and use the inactive third QB in the event of injuries or a blow out game.

If the inactive third QB enters the game, the other 2 QBs can not return at a later point in the game.

It was done to allow another depth player to dress, which is primarily to help on special teams.

And I wish the team would only keep 6 LBs on the 53 man roster, but they love going long with 7, even when the last guy is often a fringe talent with minimal chance of sticking long term.

I'd much rather use that spot on a CB or S.

If we are fortunate to get through training camp and pre-season without too many injury setbacks and some young players take the next step, CB Jourdan Lewis is at the top of my list for trades.

Other teams will have injuries, if someone needs a CB, we are willing to move Lewis.

He's a good player, but needs injuries to occur here in order to get on the field because Will McClay has a size fetish.
