Some people say this is the worst draft in Cowboy history, others say it’s decent and others really like it. In any case, each of these players will be assigned or pick a number. We probably won’t know these numbers until next week and with nothing else to talk about, let’s speculate on what numbers they’ll have on their back in Dallas.

DT Trysten Hill- #79 (already verified). He wore #9 in college.
OL Connor McGovern- #66. Wore #66 in college.
RB Tony Pollard- #23. Wore #1 in college.
CB Michael Jackson- #39. Wore #28 in college.
DE Joe Jackson- #74 (will change after camp, like Dorrance Armstrong last year). Wore #99 in college.
S Donovan Wilson- #36. Wore #6 in college.
RB Mike Weber- #45. Wore #25 in college.
DE Jalen Jelks- #56 wore #97 in college.

I think pollard can get like a number in the teens since he’s maybe more of a receiver with Webber in the 20’s, talking bout this when is rookie camp?

The fact that they gave Jalen Jelks number 56 would seem to indicate that they want to try him as a SAM LB.

Every year some scrub wears Lilly's number in TC. ow thats an outrage.

I think Armstrong was the first player in a while who wore that number in TC and actually made the team. Then quickly had to switch numbers. But usually it’s the 5th tackle that wears it.

It’s a shame. Such a cool number, along with 22 and 12.

That was just my prediction, it’s not official. All 70s and 90s are taken so 50s are the only available numbers for defensive linemen.

I think Datone Jones was the last player to wear #56.

Wikipedia has Pollard at 41 and Weber at 23! Asi has Hull at 79 idk bout the rest but they’re blank.

Update: The official website has the rookie draft pick numbers as follows:

Trysten Hill- #79
Connor McGovern- #66
Tony Pollard- #36
Michael Jackson- #33
Joe Jackson- #56
Donovan Wilson- #37
Mike Weber- #40
Jalen Jelks- #74

Glad I looked through the thread titles, and looked in here.
Was thinking of starting a new thread with the same link, as I was just looking at it.
Wanted to update my spreadsheet.

Hopefully the mods can update the thread title.

But yeah, it's always interesting to see which numbers are picked and assigned. Jelks better not get too attached to #74, though.

Right, I am sure they told him it is not permanent.
