I wouldn't say he blew a fuse....I think he's more like the rest of us...trying to digest what we did. Is it good? Is it a trainwreck?

What the hell happened????

I myself keep trying to figure out how we did....what could we have done different...to have a better outcome. And I keep coming back to one pick...Connor McGovern, G (Penn State)

If you would have told me(before the draft) we walked away with...

1/24. Amari Cooper (Oakland)
2/58. Trysten Hill, DT (Central Florida)
3/90. Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, S (Florida)
4/128. Isaiah Johnson, CB (Houston)
5/158. Charles Omenihu, DE (Texas)
5/165. Kaden Smith, TE (Stanford)
6/198. Travis Homer, RB (Miami) Instead we let Cincy screw us in a trade...and we settled for 6/213.
7/218. Gary Johnson LBer Texas
7/241. Mitch Hyatt OT Clemson

I think people would have been pretty happy...

I would have taken that in a heartbeat...

Yet...the fact we didn't get a safety to help now...Donovan Wilson, S (Texas A&M)...who knows what your going to get...has a lot of people on edge...knowing we could have solved that problem multiple times during the draft.

Only time will tell if Connor McGovern, G (Penn State) was worth the pick...

McGovern was the consensus best value pick we made. Love that pick. Next year we wave Collins goodbye and don't have to worry about finding another starter.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Collins moved this year. Williams to RT. McGregor to LG. And we're set for the oline starters for the next 3 seasons. Yuge.

This is all assuming those guys are any good.

Collins had a 1st round grade, despite how we landed him, and people have been trying to move him or fire him for years.

Time also tell if these "bone fide star", "future Pro Bowler" safeties were worth theirs as well.

In Will McClay we trust. Shannon conceded the Cowboys are loaded but is that just setting his argument up in the future that the Cowboys do less with more?

Exactly right Joe.

That’s like Stephen A Smith. They claim we’re stacked and should be great. That way the fall from the top is that much sweeter for them

For the next few years I am going to watch Thornhill and Rapp versus Hill and Gardner-Johnson versus McGovern.

I really thought the addition of McGovern meant they were seriously contemplating moving Collins, but they didn't.

My issue with that McGovern pick is that he's clearly a draft pick for the future, a couple of years down the road. But this is a team that can win now. Why take draft and stash a player when you could have had a kid that could help you immediately and in the future?

They said they had a 2nd round grade on him, which was too much to pass on in the 4th.

I wonder if Collins can even pass a physical right now. Moving him later (closer to trade deadline) will probably net a higher pick than trying to trade him over the weekend.

Not sure I'll go that far ( love to see it though ) but he better hope he doesn't have to miss multiple games ( injury ). He may never see the field again as a starter.

Who said a "couple of years"? Just me, but if reports of his talent are true, he should challenge for starting 2020 job. Hell, some have suggested he could start as a rookie. Not that I agree but he certainly appears to be ahead of where Connor Williams was coming out.

Moving him back to LG doesn't mean they think he is bad, nor does not wanting to pay him free agent money. I didn't want to pay Leary either, but I liked him as a starter.

They will have to see how he plays, but top interior linemen tend to be good bets, and him in particular, as we're not betting on a freaky athlete we're trying to develop in skills or body, but an established player with demonstrated power.

Doesn't have the movement skills of Williams, but has plenty of power.

Didn't say he was bad.

I like Collins more than most.

Think it's silly that some fans expect an oline to have 5 All-Pros.
