Most owners leave it to the GM, scouts and coaches though.
You do realize he’s also the GM, right?

To the delusional cheerleaders who like to pretend Jerry is a passive figurehead and his chubby son and the great Will McClay actually run this team, tune into the 13:55 mark of this video and observe. Ignore the fact Stephen can't even answer a phone correctly.
Stephen works the phone like a good secretary. He can't say yes or no to these offers. He's not the decision maker.
"Umm...let me call you back. I have to ask Dad."
He presents the trade offers to his Daddy. The real boss. The head coach seems open to one of the trade proposals but gets immediately shut down.
Then Stephen mentioned he'd be willing to go down 3 spots for a pick.
Not happening, as the REAL decision maker in Dallas, Till. Death. Do. They. Part., has made his decision.
"Let's keep Connor McGovern."
And so it is done. (Shout out to Will McClay, who is strangely absent in this.)
Now this isn't news to anyone reasonable, I know. I'm talking to our less fortunate right now. Those loving in their alternate reality because the real world offends their fandom.
So, to those bros.... Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss.

Well said. The o.p posts from his porcelain throne. Still sitting after 13:55. Can't imagine that. Can't be healthy.Stephen threw out the trade offers. Then asked about McGovern and got an instant unanimous decision.
You can read whatever you like into the situation, but it was instantaneously a unanimous decision.
This thread is just a troll thread.

If that guy was paying my salary I would have no issue with that.Jerry is the guy in your college group that contributed nothing to the project, but puts his name at the top of the paper.
Wait....
Steven threw out the trade offers. Garrett piped in immediately he preferred the deal with the Ravens. Jerry says let's keep McGovern. Stephen says he would go down three spots (taking the Jets deal). Stephen says do we like McGovern and everyone jumps on the bandwagon. There was no one that challenged Jerry. Not sure what you watched. Clear that Jerry is still the big dog if he wants something.
Based on the snippet...here were the offers.
The Jets were the team that offered 217 to us to go down to 93. I don't really see the benefit there.
The Ravens were the team that wanted us to go down to the bottom of the third in exchange for fifth and 6th. We would have gone down to 102 and picked up 160 and I think 197 (could have been 192 or 193 as the Ravens had all three of them at one point). That is the one Garrett said he was interested in. Would have been interesting if we had taken that. Might have been able to still get McGovern but there was a run on OL or could have got a S (Gardner-Johnson, Willis or Hooker) at 102. At 160 a board favorite was available in Charles Omenihu.
Only peones see it that way. Leaders see it differently. Que huevon. They live in a fantasy world that they created.
That video kills all claims that anyone but Jerry Jones runs this team. He didn't care what Garrett had to say (I prefer Baltimore's offer) or what his son thought (I'd be willing to go down 3 spots for that pick) and Will knew not to even bother opening his mouth.
The boss spoke up and suddenly everybody in the room agreed with him. Like good little peons.
to be fair, some owners leave the draft and trades to the gm and HC, but not all of them do, and they all meddle to a certain extent. Most owners leave it to the GM, scouts and coaches though.
