If Dak plays up to whatever contract he gets this year, do you truly trust him going forward? Or do you wait for the other shoe to drop just to say "I told you so"?

Because from what I read on this board almost daily, if he is anything but perfect (which no one is) yall won't trust him and will still call for Romo lol...

IMO he is better than yall say he is, and even if he is an All Pro this year yall won't trust him. Please prove me wrong.

I trust Dak completely as a backup. Wish we had a Brees-like QB.

So let me get this straight... even if he has an all pro year, you want him to be a back up? And remember he is getting a new contract... so a $30mil/yr back up?

YIKES! A $30mil/yr back up!
But then with the Cowboys, ya never can tell. :omg:

I love Tony. I do. He is a great QB and a better man. He deserved better than what we gave him. But he isn't coming back.

I like Dak. I think that he can be great, but he is only "very good" right now. Do I think that he is worth $25 - $30 million a year? No. But I do believe that he is worth $20 million. And I do believe that he is the QB of this team. Today. Tomorrow. And for the foreseeable future. Barring catastrophic injury, of course.

I agree he is just very good right now, which is why I added if he has a All Pro year... and i also agree he shouldn't be paid $30mil/yr, but Russell Wilsons contract set the QB market. So we gonna have to suck it up.

Ok let's play the miracle game.....love the hope out there that Dak will become a Franchise QB who will break defenses marching downfield with his arm and getting rid of his numerous FLAWS that he has going into his 4 year and not needing the def and Zeke to win games for him.

Now back to the reality of the our Cowboy fan nation......No one hates Dak PERSONALLY what we hate is his ineptness at QB and the fact that our team is being held back from new glories due to our inept passing attack!

Trust me if Dak can make the miracle happen and somehow start playing like a franchise QB it will be a sincere joy to support this young man and eat all the crow in the world!

P.S. Hold a small miracle basket as QB with so many flaws rarely if ever develop to franchise status...!!!!

Ahhhh, so Romo had no flaws, so he didn't need a defense and Aikman didn't need Emmitt Smith. They just did it all by themselves. That's how Romo got us to the Super Bowl.
Oh I know Dak has his share of flaws, what I didn't know was that flawless QBs grow on trees and are easily acquired by any team that wants one and whenever they need one.
Even when you don't pick till 28th in the draft.

Lets not be dense here. You know exactly what he meant.

In 2017 in the games without Zeke, Dak was terrible. Franchise-Record terrible. 5 Tds and 7ints in 6 games. Show me a stretch from Romo that bad.

Well I like Dak I think he'll be the franchise quarterback. however I think I'd franchise him for the next 2 years and if he plays well then I'd give him a huge lifetime contract.
But that's not gonna happen so go ahead and give him a contract.
now that we have a quarterback coach I'm a little more comfortable.

Followed by the "If Randy G has an all-pro year" and "If Noah Brown has an all-pro year" threads.

All hypothetical.

Comparing Dak to Romo and Aikman is insulting the game of Football and to all Franchise QB that ever played the game!
Compare Dak to Quincy Carter,Tim Tebow, Tyrod Taylor and Mark Sanchez that is where Dak talents at present truly are represented....

I would show you that stretch from Romo but he was on the the sideline injured. At his very least Dak was on the field. I get what you saying, he had a down year... but it was also his second year in the league I think

In no way did I attempt to compare Dak to Romo and Aikman, or any other QBs. If you'd read a little more carefully you'd know that. You're the one expecting Dak to get rid of ALL his FLAWS so he won't need the defense or Zeke to win games for him, as if flawless QBs like Romo and Aikman didn't need their defenses or RBs like Emmitt Smith.
I was comparing your expectations of Dak to your expectations of Romo and Aikman. You didn't expect THEM to win games without their defense or RBs but you expect it of Dak.
