The Ticket...and I’m sure many heard this...just had a piece on our salary issues. There was a lot of info so I’ll make it short.

In the NFL there is only 1 team paying their offensive triplets top 10 salaries in the league..Atlanta. New England and many others have zero. As an offense as a whole NE has 1. We have 5 I believe with 3 on the O line. (Driving kids to school so correct me if I git that wrong). If we pay Coop and Dak top cash we will have 7, highest in league.

Basically we are the full damn and need to win now or this things bursts

And if wondering NE has zero on D

I don't know about all the teams but that's false about Atlanta. Matt Ryan is the 4th highest paid QB at $30 million/yr and they are also working on an extension for Julio that could reportedly be in the $20 million/yr neighborhood.

Not it’s not false. All 3..QB, RB and WR are in top 10 paid at their position

Sorry if I need to clarify. It’s top 10 per their position in league

Never compare to what NE does. They have an offensive and defensive system that is fluid to take advantage of the talent they have and hide their issues. They are masters at trading off guys before they get huge contracts and getting cheaper replacements.

Gilmore is now #9 on the AAV hit for corners. He restructured his deal this offseason to free up cap space for the Pats, so his 2019 cap hit is lower than what it was slated to be originally. IIRC his contract, when signed, was one of the highest in the league, if not the new bar for corners.

McCourtey is #7 on average AAV for cap hits for safeties.

As of now, the Cowboys have Tyron Smith(8th AAV), Zach Martin(#1) and Frederick(6th) on the line.

Zeke makes the top 10 for RB's, but his AAV is 6 mil. Gurley and Bell are in the 13-15 range, so there's a huge discrepancy in that position for $$$.

It's false about Atlanta, since they are paying two of their "triplets", Ryan, 4th highest paid QB in the league and Freeman is 4th highest paid RB in the NFL. It will be all 3 "triplets" once Julio's deal gets finished, he'll be the highest paid WR in the NFL.

They did the research. It’s what team has their QB, RB and WR all being paid top 10 in the NFL. I believe it’s overall contract. Last year at 72 million he was top 10. I’m assuming that was their line or you are right. Either way it doesn’t take away what we will have to pay and how many we will have

A lot of it wasn’t just NE. Many other teams were named. They were just showing both extremes

Does it really matter?

It just means we are top heavy with young stars...... that is a good thing

We have been drafting well so that 1/2 the team is a still on their rookie deals and only add up to 10% of the salary cap........ 27 count for less than 20m

That leaves 180m for 26 players...... if we can't figure that out we are terrible at math

We are 19m under right now and didn't restructure any contracts.... we have 85m in space next year before any cuts and/or restructures.... we have plenty to sign Dak, ACooper, BJones, Zeke and JSmith

NE does not have to be top 10 paid at any position. They all get paid under the table circumventing the salary cap through their private businesses.
That is BS

they are just better at team football than anyone else and still went 10 years without winning a SB with Tom Brady

I think it does if you really look at it. It shows how you build. Steelers probably would have all 3 but they spent on QB and found other RBs snd WRs. If we have 7 top heavy players on offense snd it fails you are stuck. We were good getting out of trouble so I’d like to stay out of it. I’m assuming they wait on Zeke and see how he holds up

It is just Math

We need to sign our stars...... all of them.... if they happen to be on O so be it

Getting stuck with Dak and Zeke and Coop and Martin is a good thing

Freeman signed his contract in 2017, it made him the highest paid RB at the time, but he's still 4th this coming season.
Ryan signed a a 5yr/$150 million contract last year, which made him the highest paid player in the NFL, at the time, still 4th highest this coming season.

So yeah, it was wrong when they said Atlanta had zero. They made two of them not just top 10, but highest paid at their positions and they are going to make Julio the highest paid at his position.

The Cowboys will always be banging their heads at against the salary cap. Just because they draft players with high sparq scores. These players "wow" on film then we have to pay them for their "wow-ness."

Patriots ideology; Stay big and physical on defense while having a pure pocket passing franchise QB.

Cowboys ideology; Just draft players with high sparq scores.

We pay more and lose more than they do.

Your sentiment makes complete sense at this moment but getting stuck if Dak doesn’t take the next step, Zeke loses a step and Cooper is off snd on like Raiders does make a difference. As I said in the original message you DONT have to pay them all to win and teams have proven that. But I’m sure we will

4 years from now the Cowboys won't either.

If Dak signs before this season, his contract will be surpassed by, at least, Mahomes, Goff, Mayfield, Luck, and Newton. Likely, Wentz and at least one of Darnold and Josh Allen.

"Top" salaries are cyclical.
