It is being rumored that Wentz contract extension will be at $30 mill year (same as Dak rumored #s). If that happens then the implosion can not happen soon enough with Jones running the Dallas Cowboys. Wentz is MVP type QB when healthy and Dak if everything on earth breaks right for him could make pro-bowl.

We are going to find out very shortly if Jerry & Stephan are simply incompetent and more concerned with locking up guys they like (to insane contracts) just because they toe the company line.
Go watch Wentz in clutch situations and tell me he is an MVP type QB

Show me a perfect quarterback. It's about intangibles heart. Are you a football player. Just go back and watch every game from last year's playoffs. The quarterback play was some of the worst I've seen in history.

You are right that QB play was pretty bad in the playoffs. Dak actually had the highest postseason QBR out of the 12 quarterbacks who participated.

Dak is better than Wentz. He’s more clutch, more durable, a better leader, and has proven he can handle the pressure of playoff games without flinching. Carson loses on all these attributes.

I believe Carson is the superior talent and overall better player. But this is the first thing someone has said on this board that I can’t dispute when defending Dak’s superiority.

Carson could be more clutch, but there’s no argument for it today because all of his 4th quarter moments have been against weaker teams in October. Dak definitely has durability(availability) advantage, there’s no way to prove Carson is a preferred leader, and of course no playoff games which is kind of hand-in-Hand with clutch.

This season is going to be very interesting. Carson will be under a lot of pressure trying to live up to what Nick Foles accomplished. How he handles that will go a long way towards defining what kind of player he is. Also, his back may still be bothering him since Peterson declined to say whether Wentz will participate in OTA’s.

Providing health, this season should be the most enlightening of them all, as far as comparative careers.
Wentz showed true elite talent, but he wasn't the guy to get you through the playoffs and win that cherished SB.
Foles did the work and now you have to wonder: Did the QB matter to this team? I mean, a well-functioning QB got this team all the way.
And then there was last year and the dichotomy of Wentz at QB, as far as the team performing, and Foles pulling them as far as the Cowboys in the playoffs.

This should be very interesting.

If Wentz can show those flashes again... sign him before Mahomes.

But don’t forget the Cowboys #1 priority isn’t winning football games.

Daks popularity is a driving force for our Football Idiot who often has a conflict of interest wearing the owner and GM hat. As long as we are relevant fielding a competitive team spurring sales Dak is worth his weight in gold for the #1 Revenue franchise.

Only Tom Brady sells more jerseys and merchandise than Dak in the NFL.
Only Brady has more wins then Dak since entering the league too.......

You can prove leadership. Why the team play better under Foles when Wentz got hurt last year. Only change was QB

If it's only Dak's popularity that is the driving force then Jerry is doing a poor job, since so many people dislike him. Imagine how much more merchandise they could sell, if people actually liked Dak.

This should pretty much silence those Dak critics, especially since a QB's performance matters most during the playoffs. I mean... like your link just showed... Dak had the highest QBR during the playoffs...by far, yet some will doubt him. Unbelievable.

You should pick another sport if your opinion is this far off.

You can’t talk about someone being better than someone else when the first sentence you spew out of your mouth starts with “If he stays healthy.....”. Argument null and void.

But they played much better under carson in 2017 than Nick, so -_o_-

People talk about how great Nick was in the super bowl, but the defense and offense were much better earlier in the season. We almost lost to the falcons in the divisional round, whereas Carson had us at 11-2 and pummeling atlanta-level mediocre teams.

And I know it's convenient to pile on Carson, but most other players would get benefit of the doubt coming back early from a double ligament tear.
