look at Kirk Cousins' deal. He was paid based off of NOT what he has done, but by what he was projected to do in the future. Fair or unfair, that's the nature of the position. NO WAY he is as good as Wentz or Dak, but was paid like an elite passer. Kirk Cousins would be the back up QB on Dallas and Philly. Wentz and Dak will get paid handsomely.

The one with the most passing yards, go figure.
wow...lmao...kinda destroys the running theme out there don't it? lol...Good post. Folks forget conveniently that he was considered the most accurate passer in the league his rookie year...he and Rodgers. YET "HE CAN'T PASS." Clearly its an agenda against him.

the 14 GWD is the statline I love the most from my starting QB. Give me that guy any day.

I can’t think of one other QB outside Russ who would even attempt that 3rd and 15 run near the goal line Dak did last year when he ended up flipping onto his head. He wants to win and lays it all out there and this team would run through a wall for him.

agree man. Foles is another guy I want in that situation..or Brady. Not saying Dak or Foles is Brady...nor Russ...but I like those odds. Glad we have Dak.

"Dak & Wentz are not on same level"

I would say they are. Each has their flaws, Wentz's durability is a big minus on him, Dak's missing of critical throws is a big minus. Wentz's best year his completion percentage was only 60.2%, Dak's worst year was 62.9%. Wentz had 33 tds in 13 games, Dak had only 23 in 16 games.

But to that you have to factor in the rest of the team, Wentz's best year the Iggles had the no. 4 defense, Dak's best year the Dallas defense was only 14th.

Really though, with only 40 and 48 games played (plus Dak's 2 playoff games) each can and probably are still developing, and with those limited games it's still too early to really evaluate both of them. To me each has to improve, Wentz has to stay on the field and improve the completion percentage, and Dak has to make better decisions and tighten up on the badly missed throws he's prone to make.

Assuming each plays a full season and the defenses are not that far apart, by the end of this year it will be much easier to agree or disagree with the article title...

If you think his 2017 was just "good" then you just aren't being very rational or fair here.

But I get it. There is something dirty and it makes you feel icky to admit that a non-Cowboy in the division played really well.

So now I didnt admit Wentz played "well"!?!

I said he played "good". That's about right up there with "well". So you are upset I dont believe he played to an mvp level and now you are basically accusing me of saying he didnt play well when I said he played good?

You are all over the place on this Wentz situation. I dont know if you are a fanboy or what but I refuse to go the mile alot of you are to praise a guy beyond what he was.

Wentz imo was what he was and so is dak, since you believe I dont want to give anyother QB praise. I bet you also believe dak had an mvp all-universe season aswell!

I think people underestimate how well Cousins has played in the past.

Since becoming the start 4 years ago in Washington, he has a completion percentage of like 67%, a passer rating of like 98 and has thrown 111 TDs to 45 interceptions. And for all the heat he took last year in Minnesota for why that team didn't perform, he arguably had a better year than Dak statistically.

That's not to say Cousins is great or anything like that, but I think people often think he plays (and his stats) are worse than they really are.

I am not upset at all.

Just pointing out the machinations and twisting you are doing at this point.

And FWIW, I think his rookie year, Dak had close to a MVP type performance.

Cousins looked extremely pedestrian in 2018. Underwhelming. Did he have a case of fat cat syndrome or was it just bad luck?

Dak on the Vikings or wentz for that matter, would have been worth 2 wins. That's huge in the NFL. COUSINS JUST DOESNT INSPIRE.

If he looked pedestrian, then what was Dak?

Cousins:

70.1% completion percentage
4298 yards
30 passing TDs
11 interceptions
99.7 rating
60.6 QBR

Prescott:

67.7% completion percentage
3880 yards
22 TDs
8 interceptions
96.9 rating
58.6 QBR

Granted, Dak had 6 TDs runs as well. And this is not to make out Cousins to be some stud, but again, I think people tend to exaggerate how poor he plays. Part of it might be the fact he hasn't won much (although I am not sure that's all his fault either - even in Minnesota last year, a big reason they stunk was because that defense was flat out terrible compared to how great they were in 2017. Not sure how you can blame Cousins for the defense collapsing).

Pretty crazy when you consider Cousins statistically was better than both QBs in 2018.

Dak or Wentz might have been worth 2 more wins if they could play on the defensive side of the ball, however.

PRETTY FUNNY. Seriously...your getting stuck on the stats too much. I'm coming from an intangible point of view which means...the leadership factor. Does Cousins inspire his teammates and lead? Wentz, on his worst day DOES. Dak does each week. Stats are fine but DOES not tell the entire story. Foles' stats were not great, except for the one that mattered most... WINS vs losses...and WHEN did the wins come? WHEN you win and HOW you win matters during the playoffs. That's the only stat I care about..winning.

TEAM TEAM TEAM...and chemistry, and how you get the victory matters in the NFL. Maybe its unfair to Cousins because he didn't have the best team around him...but in the end, did he look like he was worth that 100 mil contract he got? You know the answer. That's the nature of the QB market though. High demand, low availability.

I think "intangibles" are overrated when you look at why the Vikings struggled. It wasn't the offense that cost them.

It was the defense. They went from 15.9 points given up to over 21 from 2017 to 2018.
