He's passed his prime and his declining numbers show that. Tampa got rid of him at the right time.
Just a name at this point in his career.
You can't release Crawford right now, because they have no defensive ends after DLaw and Quinn. Like his contract or not, he's a good player.Release Crawford and Hurns. There you go. $11mill.
This just makes too much sense for us this year, so we probably won't even look at him.
That would make a lot of sense. They have so much cap space they could offer at least as much as anyone else, and they're really weak on the DL.Colts?
Twice. I loved it both times.Eat, drink, and be merry in that place! Have you ever been there before?

TB cut him for the money and cap space..........13m is a big numberWell for starters, Tampa got rid of him because they had no choice. They had the least amount of cap space in the NFL at just over $1MM before cutting him. If they had the cap space flexibility, they would have likely kept him.
Two, while he isn't the same McCoy from when he was 25, he's still a very effective DT. He'd arguably be the best DT on our roster from Day 1 unless Hill just is a dominant rookie.
Now if he wants $12MM a year on a longish term deal, sure, you pass. But if he wants one last chance to win and would sign a short term deal for decent money or even just a one year prove it deal for like $10MM or so? It's a no brainer. He'd upgrade our DT position.
You technically need someone behind them that can progress past them in play. Not saying they are not getting long in the tooth. Lee is progress stopper, who here thinks that lee at SLB for 5 games this year is better than a Damien Wilson like talent for 16 games.Cant be a progress stopper if you are a perennial pro bowler. Witten at 38, and ty craw are progress stoppers

McCoy is still very good but not worth 13m.... he should get TCrawford money 2/15m or 3/21m
I don't think he is enough of an upgrade to dump TCrawford or block THill
I would use the money on a FS or RB
I don't see him taking a low ball dealHe wouldn't necessarily block Hill. He's also insurance in case Hill isn't ready for prime time.
If Hill struggles a bit (which wouldn't be totally unheard of for a NFL rookie DL to have some growing pains), your DT rotation is Crawford, Collins, Woods, Covington and I guess Ross or maybe Wise.
Hardly the stuff of champions right there. McCoy, especially on a one year deal, is a freaking no brainer.
I don't see him taking a low ball deal
More like 3/30m at least with 16m guaranteed

I don't even think the Cowboys will take a look at Gerald McCoy. Price, age, and their desire to see what they have at DT will be the reasons. The latter being the one the Jones boys espouse to the masses.
We’re loaded at Dt
Pats I bet. Though I wouldn’t be surprised if the raiders through a bunch of money at him.

McCoy is going to get massive money on a short-term deal a la Suh last year, and there are going to be lots of teams calling.
