Jones retirement statement was among the better retirement statements I've seen. It seems full of joy.

"How do I start my next chapter? Well, I start by first turning the page and closing out one of the most thrilling chapters of my life. A chapter that started as just a dream from a kid from Boat Rock. A dream that became a reality with the blessings of God Almighty, hard work, the dedication to not give up and a village of prayer warriors surrounding me.

"I stand tall and proud as I announce that this beautiful life-changing ride that I have been on in the National Football League has come to an end, I'm officially hanging my cleats up, with no regrets!

Props to him because he lasted a lot longer than I expected. He should be the blueprint on what happens when you throw it all away but you manage to get back on track and salvage your career. The guy could cover. Can’t take that from him.

He got out of his 20s without murdering someone, so there's that.

He was suspected of cheating, he was then found to be drunk and resisted arrest. That's not exactly "nonsense arrest" for a man with his past. Oh, and it was a Tuesday - so not only was he drunk on a weekday, he was also gambling.

While he's certainly no choirboy, and possibly deserved to be arrested, "resisting arrest" could simply mean trying to walk away. As for being drunk on a weekday, it's not like he has a 9 to 5 job. It's the off season. I'm sure there are a lot of players who were drunk, even on that particular night. I'm not condoning his alleged actions, or saying he didn't deserve to be arrested, but we should all know by now that just because someone was arrested, it doesn't necessarily mean they did something wrong.

Yep. I’ll one up you.

Could’ve signed with our practice squad, hurt himself while getting fitted for his helmet. We release him 15 minutes into his contract. He then signs two weeks later with team X and spends 6 years with them.
