If you want to play games then you can say its $32 million after two more seasons. But if your being true it looks like this:

Eagles have Wentz for next 6 seasons at cap hit of $154 million. Thats avg of 25 million year. The reason you don't want this to be true is because it will make Cowboy look bad when Dak ends up making more than him over next 6 seasons.

OK let's add in all the years they've already played too..

Man this place I’ll tell ya. Still complaining about Dak’s hypothetical contract that nobody knows how it will be structured and how long it will truly lock the team in for.

What good is potential though if he cannot last the entire season? Foles is not there to cover for him now.

Again, I'm not really saying that from a performance standpoint, he's not worthy of the contract, but rather until he shows he can remain on the field I do not see this as a smart signing right now.

That doesn't mean we should pay elite money to an above average player

Sure. If he blows his knee out next year and the year after, we cut him, probably only take a the 10-15 million$ Left in signing bonus in dead cap and we’re clear of it. The key is how Howie structured it. The fact that 80% of the contract is guarantees should be the alarm bell that something’s fishy. Let’s see how it’s structured.

You’re right. Most teams do this. Most long term contracts, the team can escape from after 2 seasons if they really want to.

That’s why all the hand wringing on this site about Dak’s deal is foolish. All the talk about how it will screw up the cowboys salary cap for a decade and set the team back for years blah blah blah.

No matter what his cost per year is, it will probably be a deal they can cut him from after 2-3 years max and then be fine salary cap wise.

I have little doubt that when Dak’s contract is signed, it won’t be as shrewdly constructed as Wentz’s.

because the Cowboys can help themselves. I bet Dak at bare min gets $3 million more per season over next 6 seasons for avg of $28 mill year.

We’ll see. He’s getting a lot less than Wentz for 2019, but he’s a FA a year earlier. It might be more. But I could see it either way, honestly.

Even if it does, few will recognize it.

love how excuses are piling up before reality that Dak will be bigger salary cap hit than Wentz over next 6 years.

You are a buffoon..dak has no years left on his deal..clown

But he did get them to the playoffs.I dont think he has 4 years left in him he is fragile
Was the division locked up before he got hurt? Could have swore Foles had to win at least 1 game to clinch. Either way Dak has gotten his team to the playoffs twice........ Without a backup helping
