Make no mistake, that is the very last thing I am doing. It all starts with him.

Your posting history definitely would not indicate that's the case. I just think too many are riding on Moore fixing the problems with this offense. I'm certainly hoping he'll be given the freedom to do that, but it concerns me that the offensive mind behind its lack of creativity is the head coach.

I believe, compared to his previous stops, Linehan was handicapped to a degree by Garrett's offensive philosophy. Now, Linehan hurt himself as well with his play-calls, but he also was simply not able to overcome how Garrett expects for his offense to be run.

Of course, you see this with a lot of coaches who cut their teeth as a coordinator. They elevate an assistant to coordinator but really he's just calling his coach's offense or defense. Rod Marinelli is a good example of this. Marinelli's reputation as a defensive mind was mostly built on his work under Tony Dungy and Lovie Smith, first as a defensive assistant under Dungy in Tampa Bay and then as defensive coordinator under Smith with Chicago. In between was a forgettable stint as Detroit's head coach when he didn't have either of those coaches setting up the system for him. It is Dungy and Smith who are given credit for developing the Tampa 2 defense.

I'm not knocking Marinelli, because he understands the system and is good at getting the most out of players, just simply pointing out that those defenses weren't set up by him just like our offense wasn't set up by Linehan and won't be set up by Moore. If the offense doesn't best utilize players' abilities, then it is likely that the structure put into place by Garrett is a bigger issue than the play-calling.

Cooper played in 9 games, was a near ghost in the majority of games outside of 3. Was part of a nothingburger that we haven't had since Quincy Carter was our QB. That never happened with Dez as the #1. Just saying.
Dez was a ghost for nearly his entire last 2 seasons. No true Cowboys fan is going to believe the narrative you paint about Dez was better than Amari. Heck no football fan would believe that. I would laugh but I cant make my self chuckle.

That's what it is.
Not in my opinion. I agree that what he's jawing about is most likely true, but comes across as whiny.
Calling it whining about your ex allows you to disregard it as nonsense. It's like a child throwing a tantrum by sticking fingers in their ears yelling LALALALALALAL!!!!!;;; Because they don't like what someone is saying.

Dez was injured in 2016, but he was on pace to have 1,000+ yards and 10+ TDs if he played a full 16 games. Not exactly a "ghost" - that's with consistent play, it is not the same with Cooper who had 2 big regular season games that inflated his stats.

Try again.

DEz was brought in to be the next Michael Irvin; in many ways, he never got close.

Cooper also came in in the middle of the season. This conversation maybe better put on hold until after this upcoming one or at least half way through.

Would you? He's a jump ball WR, needing good strong ankles to go up and he's coming off an Achilles and has shown the tendency to fall off a lot with any injury. And I am not sold he can handle being relegated to a lesser role on any team. Not many former WR1's can do that.
Exactly, and even if he played for next to nothing like he did for the saints would you clear a roster spot for him with the young talent we have now at WR...

I'm not the one claiming Cooper is better than anyone, I'm calling people out who are jumping the gun. People tend to overlook that Cooper was incredibly inconsistent, and no, it did not start with us. That has plagued him since his time in Oakland.

Him having a 200 and 180 yard game and the next few weeks having 1-3 catches for under 40 yards is not new. His biggest problem, outside of his hands, has always been consistency. Anyone saying he's "better than Dez" is jumping the gun due to some blind hatred they have for anyone that is a former player and doesn't have a gold jacket.

Hey, Dez, part of the reason it was predictable was because you knew about 3 routes.
So how many routes did Beasley run, for that matter how many does Witten Run in Linehan/Garrett offense.

I have no problem with players talking. frankly, I think they should do it when they're playing, not after they're gone. cooper also criticized the offense last year. I had no problem with it. but in the case where you're no longer with the club, talking negatively is a cheap shot. have the testicular fortitude to say it while you're on the team. just do it constructively. cooper did. hurns did. seems someone in the front office took note.
Dez did then was released...

They ran the ones they could. Beasley can't get deep, and Witten couldn't either. Although those seam routes Witten ran for Romo all the time were nixed because Dak can't make those throws.

Why do y'all get butthurt when an athlete echoes the same thing we've been saying on here for almost a decade?

Garrett is a con-artist. A politician who hides behind empty catch phrases because his football IQ is not up to par. He's hamstrung a decent roster for years and gotten away with it because he knows how to lay it on thick with the bossman upstairs and can drive the bus over scapegoats with the best of them. The day he is gone will be the greatest day in this franchise's history since Super Bowl XXX.

Lol...

Dez may not have been able to run all the routes in route tree well but he could run all the routes. The one route he ran well they never called, he was great on digs and in breaking routes but they never seemed to call them except in the Arizona game.

There should be more call out threads. Some of the posters here get too much slack to have it both ways.

I'm not trying to call him out. That book has already been written. I'm just pointing out the truth, and his own hypocrisy.
