If Prescott had said, I had a great bowel movement this morning. His supporters would say he's improving and will one day be the best ever.

Quote a single post - just one - where anyone has said Dak will be the best ever.

Now, as for reality, sure there are some that are too eager to see positivity in anything, but there are also those who are too eager to see negativity in anything. There are extremists on both sides. The posters that matter and are worthy of having a discussion with are somewhere in between, whether they lean a little more toward the positive or negative side.

Of course you do, that’s just a moronic statement

Of course ANYONE would want desire and heart

The guy down the street from me might have the work ethic and desire to be the QB for the cowboys, that doesn’t mean he should be

ESP at the QB position in the NFL, talent is more important than anything else for greatness

It also certainly does not mean he should be paid 30 million per year

These lollipops and rainbows threads about Dak ignore the obvious facts that he had real basic deficiencies that he has shown an inability to improve on in the last 3 years when his job and a ton of money have been on the line

You think he will suddenly improve when he is actually making that money?

He is who he is and that’s not good enough

THE worst thing a franchise can do is to pay an average QB elite money hoping he will BECOME elite

He will keep us “relevant” but we’re nit winning a SB with Dak and Garrett
How is it any more moronic than saying Tebow wanted to win but couldn't?

Nobody has said that desire is all that matters. Nobody claimed that it is a stand alone measure of a QB and how successful he will be. Nobody has said that talent doesn't count.

I responded to your comment, and if the comment seems moronic to you, it is because you put out the idiotic comment that prompted it.

As for $30MM per year, I said nothing about that, so it is a bit, well, moronic, to argue that point with me.

I will say, however, that $30MM/year is quickly becoming money that is not restricted to truly "elite" QBs. We saw the trend starting the last few years with Garoppollo getting a huge contract despite only having 2 NFL starts under his belt, then Cousins getting an even bigger contract. I don't like the trend any more than anyone else, but you have to be realistic. If you want to pay 2016 prices you will end up with a QB much worse than Dak.

For reasons most posters know ......you wouldn't understand

If you as a true Cowboy fan are not encouraged to hear this.....I don't know what to tell ya

Jesus Christ, you'd think it's something every fan would to like hear from every player on the roster.

I will let your statements speak for themselves since you’re clearly incapable of rational thinking

why does this give you confidence? I can give you 40 other responses from other QBs and players in the past 10 years saying something similar!!! its called a sound bite and its what they are supposed to say.
It's because Dak is out there doing it, hard, every day, and it's been showing during OTAs and minicamp. Everyone has been noticing the drastic passing improvement.

Dak Prescott’s expectations are high

Dak Prescott may or may not get a contract extension before the season begins. Either way, he and the Cowboys expect the quarterback to have his best season yet.

In three seasons, Prescott has never had a losing record. The Cowboys were 13-3 his rookie season, 9-7 his second season and 10-6 last season.

But the Cowboys are only 1-2 in the postseason with Prescott as their quarterback. He wants more. They want more

He will get the contract he deserves based on the market value, whether YOU think it's "elite" money or not, whether you like it or not. Franchise QBs are not easy to find.

So you don't support your teams QB? You are discouraged that our QB has been training and practicing better and that he wants to be the best?

I bet you're a ton of fun at parties.

Great! So go be that and the money will flow non stop. Don’t ask for one of the best ever money before you actually achieve that goal and truthfully are so far away from achieving it that even mentioning it at this point seems a little bit ridiculous. You aren’t even one of the best currently playing. You aren’t one of the best in Dallas history. You may not even be the best qb in your own division so stop talking and just go do it. Also, quit talking about sacrificing. Sacrifice a little money so you can get a deal done and they can keep talent around you so you can get about the business of becoming one of the best ever. Then I’ll believe all your talk. Wanting to be paid like super bowl winning QBs at this point, tells me his talk is just that.
Pretty sure you never said that about the previous QB, ...... twice.

It’s hilarious that we’ve got posters taking the contrarian side on this topic. Hint: there’s no downside to this one. It’s just a nice little sentiment from a hard working dude. It doesn’t mean much, but it’s nice to hear him saying—and apparently, doing—the right things.

I'm not encouraged or discouraged.

It's a throw away line that is spouted by players all over the league during this time of the year, nothing more.

The line about the bowel movement is a sarcastic example of how a Prescott supporter would respond to anything Prescott would say, no matter how meaningless.

You have to read between the lines a little here. It's been said he's gotten in even better shape, has worked hard to improve, has improved by multiple witnesses close and his attitude is that he wants to be one of the greats. I find that, as a fan pretty encouraging. Not life altering or anything. But it's not meaningless. If other QBs we've had in the past had this drive and attitude maybe they would have reached other levels.
And I know you were being sarcastic. All good.

Certainly great to hear. Can't wait till the games start so we can see if he's improved or not.

encouraged? not sure if I put it that...its what he supposed to say. I am sure we can dig up Romo, Aikman, Quincy Carter, and 100s of other players that say same thing. its on us. we want to improve. I want to improve, etc. etc.
like I said, I expect to hear it, so I am not surprised, nor emotional about it like you are...seemingly you are looking for any little thing to feel good. more power to you.
