X - Cooper
Y - Gallup
Z - Cobb

ok, that's 1st string, then what?
Austin, Brown, Davis, Guyton, Hurns, Johnson, Lenoir, Smith, Wilson?

assuming 5 game day WRs ... even 6, who are the other 3?
Note, Pollard can play WR if needed

I hope it will be these guys come game 1

X - Cooper,
Wilson (a natural X)
Y - Gallup,
Guyton (best athlete in the bunch)
Z - Cobb,
Austin / Davis (too much speed to cut)

Beyond the starters I think you see Cobb in the most sub packages in the slot with Pollard next. After that its anyones guess. Everyone else is very expendable

I like the look of this. I see competent WRs instead of our usual boatload of development players. And only one "gimmick player" in Austin, who is less a gimmick and more of a true run/deep threat. He's everything good about Lucky Whitehead, times a zillion.

I think Hurns is back for possession in the red zone and third downs.

Davis should be in rotation with Gallup in the base as a deep threat to back off DBs, but I haven't heard anything about him from OTAs, which is not a good sign. I still expect him to make the roster, though.

Guyton is PS. Nobody took him in the draft. No one will be desperate to put him on their 53. All the extra speedy UDFAs from this year and last don't make the 53.

Brown is gone. Teeny tiny blocking TE who has shown nothing as a WR.

Wilson would have to make a big jump to take Hurns' spot. Or Hurns would have to refuse the haircut Stephen has already said they plan to offer. Naturally they'd rather have Wilson make that jump, but it seems very unlikely. 6th round player who missed last season is unlikely to be in the ball park of Hurns.

Until I see it in TC, theses are my 6.
Cooper, Gallup, Cobb, Austin, Hurns, Brown
If they keep 7, I say Deven Smith.

Not buying the Wilson hype until I see more. They seem to like Johnson, and I think Guyton will a one of these TC highlight guys, but will be suited best on the PS along with Johnson.

At least there should be enough with those 9 that will finally push Lenoir off the roster and PS.

I do not see them keeping 2 rookies unless they keep 6 or more likely 7. Hurns and Brown, and Austin, 1 of them may get pushed off, and possibly 2. But as I see it for now, show me in TC for the rookies and for Smith, show me you have overcome your injuries.

if tavon Austin plays the same as last season he will spend most of the season on the bench from have a injury he really didn't contribute much at all last season don't think he will this one either

Davis and Austin will be cuts. Guyton and Johnson will make the 53. Smith...will make the PS. Brown will be an H-BACK TE /wr hybrid.

Cooper Gallup and Cobb. Those are the starting 3. Watch for Guyton or Johnson/hurns to be the 4th wr...not Tavon. Tavon may be cut or be a special teams PR/KR. Given our knew offense, we could actually keep 8 wr's on the 53. Which means, I expect to cut 3 tight ends and a couple of decent DE'S. We likely go wr heavy and RB.

Bet we keep 8 wr's...and fling the rock all over this year. Dak will need to be steady.

Coop,Gallup,Cobb,Wilson,Austin,Hurns is what i think will happen
What id like to happen involves Johnson and guyton they can send Austin packing hes a 1 trick pony with an injury history. They can also either make Noah brown a TE or send him packing dude is a great blocker his skillset beyond that is average

Need to see more in training camp

I don't think there is a chance of that. First because we have to be sure to be covered at all positions, and even 7 WRs would cut into depth in other areas. Second, because while Pollard is a RB, he can cover slot. Third, because Zeke is too valuable a weapon to back that far off the running game. And fourth, because Moore likely isn't nearly as pass happy as some think. I believe some fans think that because he was such a successful passer in college that his background/foundation is in an overwhelmingly pass heavy offense, however those Boise State teams were actually very balanced and contained strong running games that made up more than 50% of the plays.

I may well be wrong. We really have no idea at this point. But my hunch is we will be grasping at straws to replace Beasley. So I can see a scenario where we keep more wr's than we normally would...even with Pollard. I envision Brown moving to TE as a hybrid. Like Aaron Hernandez. Which means, Gathers is on his way out.

I see us as a pass first in order to run the ball team this year...lots of RPO's. Lots of bubble screens and gadgets. Zeke will still get 20 plus per..

You don't think Cobb is capable of replacing Beasley? Of course, I know he has had some injury issues in recent years, but that is really my only concern.

The Brown at TE idea has been floating around this board a couple of years, and I understand the thinking to a point. But I don't recall ever hearing anything like that from the Cowboys themselves, and I really think Blake Jarwin could handle that role anyway. I personally think Gathers is on his way out regardless. Witten, Jarwin and Schultz will stick, and I doubt they will want to keep a 4th TE. Of course, I suppose Brown could be the emergency TE in a pinch if there were injuries.

Tavon Austin, Noah Brown and Jon'Vea Johnson. If they keep 7, I would bet on Reggie Davis because he can take on Austin's role in the future.

Cooper, Gallup, Cobb, Austin, Hurns, Brown (Special Teams) look like the six. But I’m hoping Wilson or one of the rookies knocks Austin or Hurns off the roster. Mostly Hurns because he’s expensive and replaceable, but Pollard might make Austin redundant if they don’t find a way to actually use him in the passing game.

Cobb had low production the last couple years in GB..and yes I think he is actually an upgrade. BUT...its better to have some numbers at the position, than NOT. Why not CYA at wr and not soley bank on Cobb regaining his pro bowl form? I think its prudent to keep as many wr's on the active roster as we can afford. LET THE COMPETITION BEGIN. lol..I love it..this may be the best wr group we have had in Dallas in many years. Hurns is another guy I just love...he does many little things that you don't see. Moores offense may well boost his targets.
