A fine wouldn’t have bothered me a bit. Even a suspension for a game or two. Zeke needs to quit being a ******* and start being a positive representative of the NFL.

But it would bother me if the league changed its mind despite no new evidence. It would look bad to just blow back and forth trying to stay ahead of media reporting and the flood Cole winds of public perception. Not just look bad - it would be bad. It would also piss me off if the kid tries to pry money out of Zeke.
Agreed :) MINUS, sorry, but minus the money part.

I think trying to pry money out of him is bs (although I’m not convinced that what he’s doing yet) but on the other hand I think Zeke shouldn’t get off without any sort of punishment so if the league didn’t fine him then this would be his punishment. I know, it’s a little skewed and I really don’t like either scenario. Ideally, I would have liked Zeke to have been fined (even though I don’t think it would change his mindset) and have that be the end of it. I was pretty shocked when nothing came of it but happy he wasn’t suspended plus it helped me against the conspiracy theorists, a win win :)

if I were conducting the deposition for zeke, the first question i'd ask of the guard is did you go to the hospital to seek medical attention that day? followed by show me a doctors report describing your injuries. when the answers come back no and no, the case would be over. if he pleaded mental distress i'd ask to be shown a psychologist/therapist's report to support this assertion. he will get nothing. his attorney is probably taking this case in the hope he can get a percentage of the settlement. when he figures out there won't be any, he will drop the suit.
That’s fine and fair but I feel like a lot of people, including Zeke, are minimizing the overall picture here and focusing on the kid instead of Zeke.

A) Kid sues for money
B) Zeke confronts and puts his hands on someone

Personally, especially with Zeke’s history and the fact that he is our best player, I’m concerned a lot more with B than A.

He decides to press charges but my question is, what's the crime? I mean his own admission, he's NOT pressing charges coz he was harmed but he doesn't believe the sincerity of Zeke's apology. Look Zeke was wrong, I'm not sure there's a poster or fan denying that. He apologized to the kid, his team, the league and fans and all accepted it. But for the kid ( actually his father IMO) to come back what month or so later and say oh, I wanna now file charges, not coz of pain but he didn't show enough remorse with his apology.

Here what I think, just me, since incidence his dad hired an attorney and has approached Zeke requesting some financial settlement to avoid them pressing charges. Once the league refused to punish Zeke, they decided to press charges, hoping now to get the weight of a criminal charge to support their lawsuit. Other words, IMO this is 100% about a financial windfall and zero to do whether or not they believe a crime was committed. The reason I wouldn't give him one dime w/o a court order. I'd rather pay the money to an attorney defending me and if I lose so be it.

BTW......Unlike previous issues, since the league has already issued its ruling, suspensions or whatever is a non-issue w/o any NEW evidence.

Yuck.
Staged legal situations with an actress is not my cup of tea.
I was just trying to put this "legal" mess in perspective. the security guard has chosen to make this an issue for reality tv. the boy that cried wolf. or in this case, zeke.

I figured. I decided to inject my (most surely desired) commentary on Judge Judy.
You all are welcome.

Lol.

Oh yeah its about money. But I heard again earlier on these boards that the guard used the N word towards him and I would like to know if that's true. If he did then he is a turd and why would he want that dragged out in court or public...

zeke has been adjudicated to be innocent by the police and the nfl. ergo, the focus is exactly where it belongs. on the sissy guard.

The state prosecutor files charges after the police find probable cause for an arrest. The security guard can only file a complaint and NOT FILE or PRESS CHARGES as that's the prosecutors job. Stupid article ??

So true.......many are unaware. He only filed a complaint. Prosecutor will decide if a crime was committed or enough evidence to support crime or prosecution.

Even though I'm 21 pages late to the party, this is a bunch of garbage.

I saw the footage of the "incident" on NFL Network and the guard is clearly laughing (or at least smiling) as Zeke "knocks him into" the fence.

This is a cash grab and I can't see Elliott getting into any more trouble for it. Again, poor judgment by Zeke, but to call what he did to a supposed "security" guard an "assault" is a real stretch.

I just LOL at a "Security Guard" that is so out of sorts over being in a "physical" confrontation- on the job.
What exactly was he expecting?
What if real shiznozz went down? Was he going to be the 1st guy running away?

"I didn't sign up for this ****! I'm just here to keep the gate counts!"
