Any news on whether Prescott will hold out without a new top-market contract?

Heard about Zeke who has 2 (!) years left on his deal holding out. But what about Prescott? He's set to be a UFA this coming March and I don't hear any news of him bizzitching about it. What's the deal here?

Headed to Switzerland the day after camp opens. Face time with the coaches.

Yeah, prove me wrong. Before camp.

CZ should organise some counselling for all the Dak fans who assured us that Dak would be signed to a long term 30m per year contract by now. :)

They rarely get big deals done until right before camp anyway. Stephen has said in the past that the urgency helps. Otherwise he feels they spend a lot of time exchanging offers but no deals get done until there’s urgency, anyway, which is why the Cowboys like to wait for closer to camp.

Though, with Cooper to do this year, too, if possible, that makes waiting for the last minute more challenging.

I would have already done Cooper by now. Amari is by far the biggest priority heading into camp. He's also the best player on an offense than includes Zeke, Zack Martin and Tyron Smith. Cowboys are married to him, if they are willing to trade a premium 2019 1st rounder for a bottom-barrel 2021 3rd round comp. pick then the front office should be shot.

It takes two to do a deal. It's possible Amari is waiting on another big deal like the new Julio Jones deal before he decides what he's worth. Or it's possible they're working the Dak and Amari deal in parallel and that one or both of them get done by early in camp.

Either way, this is the usual process for the Cowboys. They don't worry all that much about timelines in the offseason, but they tend to get the deals done closer to the deadlines when something has to get done. They don't let players they want walk, though.

I think he might be waiting on the new CBA. Hell, I don't know why any of these guys are trying to get deals done earlier. When the new CBA is done, it's likely that the cap goes up and percentages to be paid out to players increase. All of them would be wise to wait for that if they are able, IMO. They should all do short term restructures for smaller dollars and come up on a contract year, once the new agreement is in place IMO. That would make a ton of sense. Probably why none of them are doing it. Dak could easily sign a two year extension right now that would pay him 25 a year right now, fully guaranteed and then come up on a new contract year in 21 and with any luck, have a Super Bowl to show for it. At the very least, a much stronger position and more money to work with. He could see himself making 35 in two years if he were smart. I don't know, I guess it seems simple to me but clearly there is more to it because none of them are doing that.

Our fans just totally desire the team to suck. It's so sad.

27th pick is premium now? Its essentially a Rd2 pick. Cooper is worlds better then Abram what the raiders got.

I agree Cooper needs to be resigned and he will, last time i checked though he was already signed for 2019. If 2020 league yr starts and Cooper isnt resigned, he will be franchised. I dont think it will get to that tho. Relax and let the team work.

If we didn't trade for Cooper it would more likely have been around the 10th to 15th pick.

Still, trading a 27th in 2019 for the 98th in 2021 should send the whole front office to the abattoir.

If what? Dallas traded the pick to win. They won they won the trade, and they won games. Turned a horrible season into a playoff run.

REPORTS as of yesterday are Dak will have a deal in place either before Oxnard or during... I CALLED IT. Your welcome.

A smart GM wouldnt sign a QB to a long term deal until they sorted out who's going to be coaching first.
