I don't know where all the trust in the younger guys would stem from.
We've yet to see Wilson, Davis, Johnson, Smith, or Guyton in a single padded practice.

I think the idea of adding speed to the group is a big part of the equation. The three young WR's all possess pretty good to excellent speed.

A disingenuous child who can't admit their own mistakes I guess.
Oh......so basically you need to either get a life or seek counseling if you let a poster on a message board have you resort to name calling? Sounds like the immaturity you were speaking about a post ago.

I could see him being resigned after testing the market

I wasn't expecting it yet since we had carried him this long. I guess we had to wait until he was healthy.

I thought we'd take him to camp and release him before the final cutdowns. I would have preferred it that way because of injuries, but we should have enough depth with Cooper, Cobb, Gallup, Austin, Wilson and Brown along with newcomers Johnson, Guyton, Smith and Davis trying to force a couple on the back end off the roster.

Seems like it was always going to happen. No way were we paying 6 million a year for a number 5 WR.

He is a progress stopper at this point.

Not a shocker to me, thought he would be hard pressed to make the roster to begin at his money, with his injury and what the Cowboys added to the roster with Cobb.....

I keep on seeing this, so don't think this is directed only at you.

EVERYONE if we were so worried about speed why then did we replace Hurns with Randle Cobb?

I'm glad the Cowboys told him that his number had to come down and ultimately released him when he wouldn't.

He's in for a shock if he thinks he'll see anything close to those numbers anywhere else.

He wasn't on my list of wide receivers this team would be keeping anyway.

Where do they say how much he was offered? I understand being pro team but this is stupid.

It's a money vs. production thing really. He simply makes more than he should based on what he gives on the field.

If calling you out for your mistakes is "name calling", I'm guilty. On the other hand, if the shoe fits...

There's a post in this thread that states that they offered him $2 million. I believe it was from Jane Slater.

Here it is:

You don't think he'll get more than $775K on the open market? Not even close to that number would be less than the minimum.

I'll take that bet.

Biggest winner is probably Cedrick Wilson. The team is extremely high on him and I honestly have no idea how he lasted til the 6th round of the 2018 draft.
1. Amari Cooper
2. Michael Gallup
3. Randall Cobb
4. Tavon Austin
5 .Cedrick Wilson vs Noah Brown
7. Devin Smith
8. Jon'Vea Johnson
9. Lance Lenoir
10. Jalen Guyton

$6M cap space for your 5th WR was crazy anyway. You just replaced a $6M cap hit for a guy who can do the same thing (and with a brighter future) for only $524k.

told you so

Cedrick Wilson is now the only natural XWR on the squad.

Cooper, Gallup, Cobb, Wilson, and 2 ? marks.

Considering the ?s are Austin, Brown, Davis, Guyton, and Johnson ... probably speed wins.

I wouldn’t assume Wilson is some lock here.

I know the Cowboys are high on him but he’s shown little other than snippets in a few workouts.
