Neither did the Rams obviously. The challenge is that the RB position isn’t as valuable as it’s once was. I love Zeke but breaking the bank for him puts you in salary cap he’ll. He will break down in no time and we will have tons of dead money. Find a way to pay him for his production and let him bet on himself. If he is a freak and last a long time then he gets the whole contract. But he wears out this year and you can afford a replacement.

RBs are still very important but the problem is that the NFL has gotten too pass happy, and that's why you see a bunch of flashy teams not make it to the championship game. The Pats never invest in RBs but Brady manufactures runs with pass out of the backfield, and when the Eagles went to the SB it was behind a great defense and a powerful running game. I think that Zeke, Gurley, DJ, Barkley and possibly Guise are going to lead the resurgence of the RBs.

oooh...this is going to get interesting. worst comes to worst...Zeke sits home for 6 games and has to show up for the last 10 to earn a year in the league...just in time for a playoff push and a playoff run....its not out of the question for us to be 3-3 after 6 games.

They need to get a proposal together to send, instead of this going to Casbo crap to work out.

I am a huge Zeke fan. But he is not bigger than the team.

I started that thread, and that comment makes me love him even more. Teams can not redo rookie deals with 2 years remaining. That will absolutely blow up teams salary cap plans. Im damn glad it looks like the Cowboys are not just gonna cave in and give Zeke whatever he wants. Cheers Jerry!

I want to keep Zeke, assuming a fair contract, but J.J. is 100% correct. You do not need a rushing champ to win the Super Bowl. Does it help? Sure, but I don’t think New England has ever had a rushing champ. Few Super Bowl winners have.
