Just like the Commanders do with Lombardi, the Dolphins with Johnson, the Panthers with Siefert, the Saints with Ditka and any other team that hired a HC because of those skins on the wall but that's not why Parcells was hired, his job was to help sell a new stadium. He gave Booger the credibility he needed because he couldn't get that on his own.
Yep and why he needed someone like Jimmy too.

Some of us have been arguing for years that the only thing that’s going to truly bring change is empty seats or total collapses.

Thats a good one. Thank you for inadvertantly making a point for me that had zero to do with this discussion. Coaches, even ones that are supposedly great, cant do jack without the right players. What did every coach you mentioned lack when they moved to a new team? cmon... ill even give you a few minutes to figure it out:)

Can be voided if Zeke is injured before May 2020.

Zeke would be taking a chance playing in 2019 without a new deal.
Zeke's career is at Jerry's mercy. What risk is he taking by pissing him off by making demands with two years left on his contract?

The only mistake so far was not getting Cooper done ASAP.

The WR market is about to get stupid and Elite WR's really aren't helping teams win Championships anyways.

Dak will be the one that hurts if he gets stupid money but I feel better about it now when listening to Stephen because he mentions giving him a contract that allows them to have good players around him.
Elite wrs aren't helping, elite rbs aren't helping so who is left?

Yep

I’d only sign Zeke now cause he’s forcing the issue.

We can push Dak until next year and Cooper too. I really can’t see ya signing Cooper long term. I see him more of a Franchise Tag next year.

And unless Dak develops into more than an average passer I’d pay him as such. In the mid 20 million range.
If you wait till next year to pay Dak, you won't get the chance to Only pay him mid 20's money. He will be a free agent and Titans or Dolphins will give him mid 30's. It's a difficult situation our FO is in. Market says starting QB make 30 million regardless of stats or lack of achievement.

Foles didn’t get 30 million this year. 4 years 88 million which is closer to where we should sign Dak now.

And Reid, watch that zero to do with this discussion, you have no idea how my mind works. You can't be sure I was even in the right thread.

While those coaches didn’t have the same success because of the talent they did or begun to turn those franchises around.

So, I wouldn't say they didn’t do “ jack “. After three 5-11 seasons Bill took that team in 2003 to the playoffs in his first season with Quincy Carter. IMO one of the best coaching jobs in Cowboy history. And his drafts built the foundation for the playoff teams with Wade.

The greatest measurement of a HC or any MGMT is were they in a better place than when they took over.

Yes! Deal with Amari!

But by then the mon-ay is less than Zeke or Dak will require. Or demand.
Blokes, who sits out next? Zeke, again. Shoving jerry into some gates and saying, "hey I diddndonothing."
And Jerry kisses his feet.
Disgusting.

They should of had a deal in place before they gave up a 1 for Cooper. Right now cowboys have 3 big free agents Cooper, Dak and BJ going into next season can only franchise one. If you going to put a tag on one it’s Dak your QB which leaves Cooper the number 2 free to test the market. If Dak signs I bet Cooper does to avoid the tag. I still see no reason to do anything with EE till next off season

We need to get Cooper signed asap, the market is increasing and were just going to pay more because we couldn't get it done months earlier.

And if Cooper (who was on a little bit of a downward trend in production) had not played well and had made little difference in the offense, Jerry and Stephen would have been burned at the stake for giving the guy a lot of money before making sure he was worth it.
You don't give up a first round pick if you don't believe in him. It was utter stupidity that the deal wasn't done

Could someone please explain to me why we keep waiting? Everyone knows that the market resets HIGHER every time there is a new contract in that skilled position. Oh and the reset is a when not if and you can’t tell me Jerry doesn’t have advanced warning of a new reset. So why wait?

I see it happen and it feels like the Twilight Zone: On Monday everybody is saying Dak wants 25 but is not worth more than 20 and then Wilson gets a lifetime achievement contract that rewards him for two Super Bowl appearances and the next day the same people are saying Dak should ask for 30 but is only worth 25.

The sooner we get these mark to market contracts done with star players the better!

Doing it now is just Zeke’s fear of being “Demarco Murray’d“, I think. I can’t believe he is just a greedy b@st@&d.

I agree ,
this makes sense ...
And shall i add all RB's in the NFL get murray'd ... they play and get beat to a pulp in this league .

Easy answer.

Letting players hold you hostage will lead to multiple problems w/ players down the road. Better to just let him sit and stew and lose money in Cabo.
