Although I'd prefer that all three deals be done next year, I agree that if paying our players is the biggest issue we have, then we're in pretty good shape. I think we'll see all three get new deals this year. The only one I'm really in favor of is Cooper's because I think he has proven himself in three out of four of his seasons. In other words, I think he's a safe bet.

I consider Elliott to also be a safe bet as a player, but I'm not as certain about him off the field, so I'd rather see him grow up a little before we invest in him. Of course, restructuring him now makes it more likely that he'll play out the contract.

With Dak, I just want to see a consistent year like we did in 2016 first. I'm not opposed to him being the franchise QB if he plays like he did that year or the back half of 2018. I know there are circumstances that contributed to his times of poor play, I just want to see him play like a top-level QB again for a full year before investing heavily in him.

Two "top 5's" and a "top of the market" running back deal is a lot of coin. I can see how and why that could take some time. And these "market setting" contracts happening all too frequently as of late haven't made that any easier.

But if we're handing out these deals, the money will dry up quickly and there won't be room left to resign a lot of the pending free agents.

This Zeke holdout sucks. I have no idea who is doing good at TC all because all anyone talks about is Zeke. I love reading the Training camp post and the position battles going on. Unfortunately, this training camp is all about what 21 is doing.

No, it was a scrimmage, nothing more.

I watched it late last night (recorded it; too much going on) and saw some great things from the defense (secondary) and a few good things from the offense. I can't wait for the first pre-season game!

Pretty good write up and agree with most, was just wondering if you realize that Dak is a free agent after this year... Not saying you are wrong because I am still on fence about him, just saying cowboys might just have a tough time resigning him before next year happens

They mentioned this last week on NFLN, how does this effect TC.
Of the players and coaches say it doesn't effect them at all.
One persons opinion said it does effect them, if not now, but it will eventually. I am not sure if it will, but it has to be considered.

I think people forget the defense always plays better in the beginning. They are moving downhill vs scripted plays and with plays being installed. Add this year a new OC with significant changes and it should be expected. Plus key players being out.

It never ceases to make me laugh how so many "fans" believe so much from people who have no actual first hand knowledge of any contract negotiations that are going on and then "fans" proclaim this or that when "fans" aren't sitting in on the negotiations either.
