It isn’t ugly...it’s just business....and Elliott is the only one who doesn’t need a prove it deal

I like Dak but I’d be lying if I said he’s not replaceable and it hurts me to say it because I want him to retire a Cowboy

And Coopers only been here half a season I wouldn’t even bother with numbers right now for him

Top 5 for RB can vary from 8mil aav to 14.3mil aav
Assume his is probably top 2.

Dak would be from 30-36 mil AAV. Probably in the middle near Wentz

Cooper would be between 16mil and 19.25mil

Still holding onto that Dak will be done by the bye. Gives both sides a taste of what the Moore lead offense brings to the table.

Cooper I could see be done by next offseason as IMO he's in no rush to sign.

Can't see them going into next offseason with Cooper, Prescott and Jones as potential UFA's and only one Franchise tag.

Same here. Given the money teams will have next year, they would undoubtedly lose one of them. Although I’m not re-signing Jones anyway.

If that's their position......just remember we were only one win from NFCCG game last season. An appearance in 2019 NFCCG will certainly increase each player's contract value. So the cost advancing ONE additional playoff game we can the floor for three contracts to likely be top 3 money or they walk and we start over at the position.

And if any of them get hurt, or they perform worse...

It's a dangerous gamble if they do.....

Roy Williams says hello
That’s a prime example of why you don’t trade those top picks for players unless you know they are worth the contract you have to give them
Roy Williams was not and a few here pointed that out before the trade
But you have to make that decision before you trade for a player
You can’t give a first rnd pick for a player and let him walk a year and a half later

It's a dangerous gamble if they do.....

They saw what happened with D-Law, and it'll happen again.

Contracts always go up. What seemed like an "overpayment" a year ago is now considered ok the year after and 2 years later it's a steal.

It's like the rising house prices but without the fear of defaulting on your loan.

Say Dak wants 32 mil this year but the Cowboys are stuck on 30.5mil, for example. He goes out and has a good year, posts better numbers etc... He isn't going to accept 32 mil in 2020, and may want closer to 34-35, especially since Mahomes will be eligible for an extension in 2020 and he'll definitely reset the market.
