Every generation is different. The Millennials are uniquely different than my Generation X. They are a generation that doesn't respect authority, age, or status as their predecessors did. They expect those in charge to earn their respect rather than recognize titles.

This posses problems in careers that are built upon those traditional hierarchies as you may find in the military, police, and organized sports.

A millennial believes they are entitled to certain privileges and opportunities upon being hired. Hence the super star athletes who have been catered to their entire lives (21-27 years) believe they to are entitled hito thee highest salaries and statue.

EzE is a prime example of said entitlement. He agreed to his contact, yet his millennial ego is so fragile, he's demanding a contract compatible to the highest of stature....the team's QB.

The Millennials have done their best to damage the image of the NFL from the outside, and now they have began their campaign from within. They don't care about the team, but they are only "Out For Self."

The days of reconstruction of a player's contract for the betterment of the team is dead. Think about it, no millennial has done that as of late.....

You do know that restructuring a contract actually helps the player right? Because it moves base salary into bonus money that the player gets immediately, rather than having to wait for game checks.

Maybe you should put on your spectacles and read about it sometime.

This thread is hilarious.

Complaining about “millennial” players, who are trying to maximize how much money they can get paid, based on their skills, talents and hard work.

And get paid that money from billionaires who did the same things in order to make their money. Unless of course they were just born into that much money from their parents having it........

Classic.

Lol! Zeke is doing what his agent is telling him to do. He has clearly outplayed his contract. The agent looked at the screw job the Steelers tried with Bell and determined to head that direction off before it occurred. As many posters on here, who have advocated paying him cheap 5 years, franchising for 2 seasons and send him packing, it seams the agent is doing a fine job protecting his client. He has a short window to set his family up for a couple of generations and would be a fool not to take steps to ensure that happened. He has absolutely no obligation to meet your needs of instant gratification!
9 million next year is not cheap. Neither are the franchise years.

Compared to the security blanket that he'll get from the signing bonus he's looking for it is.
and if he stayed out of trouble, he might even get some endorsement deals like dak.

$5B dollar sports team... yeah, he's really ruined the team. The Cowboys are contenders for another SB title so your idea of "ruined" is a bit warped wouldn't you say?

Contenders for a Super Bowl??! :lmao::lmao2::lmao2:

We haven't even won a divisional round game since 1995 and we are contenders? Riiiiight. Jerry has you right where he wants you. Defending his honor and having blind faith in a team that he has ran into the ground relative to what this franchise used to be. In terms of recent success, we have been lapped by every single team in the NFC not named Lions or Commanders.

Money is what is ruining sports.

Not young people.

Not old people.

Not in-between people.

Just money.

It's all about the money.

The players? About the money.

The owners? About the money.

The media? About the money.

The money is what everyone behind sports cares about now.

When Emmitt held out, was he entitled?
Maybe not, but he was definitely way ahead of the curve..
Some true crystal ball stuff right there,, going 0-2, then winning a SB.
Funny how history makes heroes, .. or is it the other way around?
Something to ponder.

LOL at "paying him cheap for 5 years" and "tried with Bell".

Zeke's signing bonus before ever having an NFL practice was higher than Le"veon Bells combined 6 year NFL salary.........

His contract despite being 3 years old is still top 3 in fully guaranteed money. That's not paying him cheap. In your scenario of rookie contract + franchise tags his career payout would be close to 60 million dollars all fully guaranteed.........

He has a short window to set his family up for a couple of generations and would be a fool not to take steps to ensure that happened
If Zeke where to get a career ending injury this year his career payout would be almost 34 million dollars to only have to play 2 full NFL seasons......... (his money window is already happening, that's why he has no leverage)

I followed the 90's teams. They had better DT depth, but i'll take our overall DE depth. And our CB depth. This offense (with Zeke) is deeper than the 90's SB teams. Deeper OL, WR's, RB's.
Disagree especially since free agency was basically created with the 92 team being so deep. If this team was so deep and talented they would have a trophy. We will have agree to disagree with this one.

It's a billion dollar industry, maybe trillion. Not sure why the people who make it valuable can't reap some of the benefits. The bigger question is why do we value sports and entertainment so much. You want judge some kid when you're willing to waste half your paycheck on a jersey.

OMG, enough already. Zeke is not Bell, not even close. Jerry is not the Steelers and he has never underpaid Zeke. Stop already, this is propaganda.
