how is this on Marinelli alone? SJ and JJ make their own decsions.. btw the last 2 drafts I thought the D guru has a lot to say? when draft picks dont work its on the all of them Scouts coaches and FO..I trust them because most of the others drafted have been very good picks, we are loaded with draft picks who are not busts.. the only Blame on Marinelli is his reputation for making something out of nothing and wanting particular buld and dstyle of play at Dline and really Jerry and Stephen need to stop trusting that and go for BEST ON THE BOARD and not what they think fits best in their scheme, great players adjust to any scheme..get the best players at Dline if hes available..we all know who that was at this pick and its unfortunate lol

on that note it is time for KR to take over 100% and see how that goes RM and Garret should be gone at seasons end..yes yr to late at best :)) out with the old in with the new

Sj and JJ don't do independent player evaluations. Marinelli's area of of expertise throughout his career is the DL. We don't draft anyone he doesn't like.............which is why you don't see 1-tech DTs.

If Broaddus raves about him that’s the kiss of death.

Sorry..not an argument. Super easy to state an opinion then hear contradictory evidence and mock the source. Doesn't require much but a quick 'gotcha'.

Some players look like complete busts their first year, then transform completly in the second season. Taco still looks like that 1st year bust.

....I guess I'll be single man out here. I thought Taco did a descent job Vs niners. Most of the time he got good push, was near the QB a number of times. He wasn't standing room only on the LOS. He's not the best or worst. Still worth the keep, if they cant find someone better.

still JJ and SJ fault for trusting him as the draft picks do t work out,,they are the and I mean FINAL WORD on all things DC including type of beer and food served at the Star and ATT..at some point you pull the power from the DC or OC and draft by best player on the board NOT best fit for scheme as thats not working..

The way drafts are hindsight-evaluated on Cowboys Zone is:

If it’s a good draft pick, Will McClay made it.

If it’s a bad pick, then Jerry, Stephen, Garrett or one of the coordinators made it...depending on the poster’s agenda.
I said all scouts etc plus FO all are responsible.. longest off season in sports get it right!!! lol

Forcing two holding calls is nothing to sneeze at

He can’t get a sack playing against second team players and guys who won’t make the cut to 53, and we should beat our chest over Taco? Lol. Ok.

Dallas has drafted pretty good lately but it looks like they missed on this one.

The funny thing is they usually draft best available nut they reached for a DE and got burned.

And then there's that. Not sure he's destined to remain a Cowboy when the Turk makes his rounds but we'll see. He's picked up the pace for sure, though. It might render him a little more valuable in a possible trade. Keeping him would more than likely mean parting with someone more productive. It's a slippery slope, any way you slice it.
They could cut the FB. Not sure why we have anyone there unless their name is Johnston or Newhouse.

People were saying that about Demarcus Lawrence for his first two years. It takes pass rushers a while.

Sounds about right. This guy is a thinker.

Ppl need to stop coming for taco. They knew he wasnt a speed rushing end when they drafted him. The front office is to blame. I still think taco was a d law insurance policy at left end in case d law left

An insurance policy with a bankrupt insurance carrier.

All picked at 28 over the last 10 or so years. Couple of guys went on to great careers. A couple of disappointments. And a few decent players. I’m sure you could go back 20,30 years and find the same kind of results.
Point is. Picking 28 is tough. Most teams grade out about 15-20 true first rounders each year. Has he been disappointing? Certainly. But to call Taco or anyone picked 28 or lower a bust is silly.
Wouldn’t surprise me to see him traded to or picked up by another team, then go on to have another 5-10 decent years as a rotational type player.
I wouldn’t be surprised to not see him on an NFL roster fairly soon.

The OT literally had to take two penalties to keep him from making plays.
