Dear brutes and ruffians:

If Dak did indeed toss around that figure of $40 mil, he and his agent are geniuses!

Now that Dak has us all a twitter with $40 mil, heh ... suddenly the OLD RIDICULOUS $30 MIL IS BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT MORE FAIR AND COMMENSURATE WITH DAK'S ABILITIES.

HERE WE ARE, YAKKING ABOUT $40 MIL AND NOW, SUDDENLY WE'LL SEEM MUCH MORE HAPPIER TO AWARD DAK AND HIS SHORT-RANGE ARM $33 MIL A YEAR AND EVERYBODY WILL BE HAPPY.
:lmao:
DAK IS PLAYING US BEAUTIFULLY!!!
WE DESERVE WHAT WE GET.:muttley:
I think you have it wrong.

Dak wants that franchise tag, like Idgit said.

He wants to "Kirk Cousins" his way to super millions.

He'd better have the game to make that happen.

What's it going to be then, eh?

The ironic thing now is that Cousins does not look all that bad now. At the time it was giving people heart attacks.

Is it true that he turned down 30, because then it doesn't matter after that. Negotiations already took a turn for the worst whether he asked for 40 or not.

LOL.

He’s insane.

Equally insane would be the Cowboys “settling” on 35MM a year.
No, but with that $40 mil figure on everybody's lips, the Cowboys FO will settle for $33 mil-$35 mil a year and be glad about it!

Here's my fear.

This gives Dallas the incentive to let the Zeke thing drag on so Dak can show his "true value" in an offense without Zeke to the world.

That doesn't bode well for a good start.

Let him test the market. I don't think any team will pay 40m a year for him. He needs to take the 30 a year now before his stock comes down.
I don't think that's what he should do it all. I would just play this season out and see where the chips fall. He's betting on himself. Shows me confidence. As they say the football is in his hands LOL

Other teams do it all the time. Dallas is better than most about it.

If Dak is making a crazy demand like this, the ENTIRE fan base will support the organization.

First off, when any player negotiates a deal, fans support the organization to start because they want to see a player get as little as possible. Some of it's just jealousy at the mammoth amount of money going to someone else they deem lower than them. Meanwhile organizations don't get called underhanded for leaking stuff like this, if in fact they did, but Lawrence is called an unfair negotiator by holding back his surgery until he got a deal. This is why players don't give two spits what emotional fans think and just handle their individual business.

Dak was a helluva teammate for showing up while negotiations were going on and Zeke was public enemy number 1. Now on the basis of a rumor of normal negotiations, Dak is a bad guy. Anyone see a pattern here? The saying "money changes everything" is quite an accurate saying.

I'd say 32.5 should be our max.

It'd be better to let him walk than to pay him more than that...

He's not holding out this year, so whateves...

After Zeke's holdout i highly doubt 30 million is still on the table if it ever was a true blue offer.
This is great news as Dak's agents are working out perfectly for our team keeping Dak unsigned and saving us millions in Cap.

Here's a question does Dak have the guts to hold out at some point prior to kick-off if no deal is struck?

Make no mistake about this. I don't particularly care what a football player individual makes. In this particular case Dak Prescott is betting on himself he's not in a hurry. He takes us to the championship game he might just pay him. If not I don't think he Minds testing the market that's what it seems like to me

I am one of Dak's biggest fans.

And I think he's being flippin' ridiculous. As others have said, he deserves a little more than Carson Wentz money, but it should stop there.

Now, if the Cowboys win the Super Bowl this year and Dak puts up some otherworldly numbers, then maybe he'll have a case. But not now, Dak. I mean, seriously, bro.

I can see that, too, good lad.
