A 4th big contract about to happen?

It took too long for the bet to pay off. He's an UFA after the 2020 season, and he's just getting better. Signing him now will be the cheapest option. We continue to make these bets in round 2 and punt on the advantage of cheap rookie contracts.

I'm for signing Jaylon now. I'm against signing him as if his existing contract doesn't exist. Let us extend him and pay him for the added value of the *added* years, not as if he's a free agent now. Pushing forward money from those added years is fine, but we should still be getting 2 years at a cheap cost no matter how the money for added years is sloshed around.

He's still a top 15-20 tight end.

And they have to have some blocking ability.

plus the ability to jump off-sides, hold in critical situations, miss blocks, and get stonewalled for a 3 yard gain on 3 & 4 by a 175lb DB.

Heck...

Even Jason Witten knew Jason Witten's best days were far behind him on May 3, 2018

No, he's not Witten of 2010. But he's still an average tight end in the NFL, and above average when it comes to receiver/blocking combinations.

Especially when you have a QB who is largely allergic to throwing the ball to wide receivers.

I'm guessing that 4th deal is for our very own 'Jumbo' Joe Looney!

I'm trying to figure out who got the first three. The only deal I've seen this year was for DLaw.

Otherwise, just a lot of jibber jabber from the Jones Boys.

I'm taking it to mean that there's the obvious "Big Three" of Prescott, Cooper, and Zeke that have yet to be done, and Jerry's mention was of a fourth deal for another player in the works.

Yep, as well he should be, upon being a 2nd round pick, despite a badly torn knee.

He has worked very hard, is healthy now and totally worthy of a healthy reward. :)
Well keep in mind he got 2nd round pay for 2 years? which was money for nothing.
I think dallas could have waited and got him in the 6th round.

He is a charming individual.

All you have to do is just suspend football logic when it comes down to what he says.
Jerry is truly a kind soul. A good man who loves his family and is a great businessman....who has no business running football operations for any NFL team. He qualified for the job of GM the moment his check to buy the team cleared the bank. And he is not accountable for a single football mistake he makes. What could go wrong?

Who's the one player on this list that has at least one Pro Bowl under his belt besides Witten and Lee? It appears to be the bar for Stephen offer second contracts. I can't think of a player getting a second contract w/o at least one Pro Bowl. Remember he said "big contract".
