Idk about y’all but I like the way
Xavier Su'a-Filo plays with physicality yet able to move laterally. I would rather have him start over Connor Williams and complete this line. Pollards big run came on his side?

If not carry extra OL & keep 5 WRs with ability of Pollard/Zeke to come out of the backfield.

Looney over both of them
Looney is a good do it all backup and starting center , but I’ll take Xavier as #2 OG . Dude has grown man strength and can move ppl like rag dolls to create a new line of scrimmage.

XSF is a big liability in pass blocking and can't pull like Williams.

XSF is very gone. We drafted McGovern. We're keeping Looney. Redmond probably sticks before XSF.

Listening to Talkin Cowboys, they think Connor Williams is like a Zach Martin starter kit. They said he has held his own against Maliek Collins and very hard to move once he sits down on a defender. Also moves well.

This is foolish. Connor Williams is much better than Sua'filo and quite frankly Sua'filo really isn't good at all. He is ok in the run game but is totally lost in pass protection. Martin will be back at RG anyways so it doesn't matter.

Yet Voch Lombardi says he is regressing with each game. The Tony Pollard run came because Travis Frederick made a great block and because Pollard kept his balance. Pollard looks like a legit RB. I prefer Connor over Su'a Filo

I believe the OP isnt talking about RG. He is most likely talking about LG.

Connor Williams will get the start because he was drafted by us. Not because he has outplayed Sua'filo.
On the only drive against the Rams 2nd string Connor was blown up a few times.
Admittedly I havent studied him but in the snaps I did pay attention to he didnt look much better than anyone. Particularly in run game.
The guy is a OT playing out of position. He can handle DE's and LBers rushing better than DT's. But due to Jerry's promise to Lael and his mom and T Smith he is playing LG FOR NOW.

This Voch guy has been biased towards Connor since he was drafted. He doesnt want to be wrong so he breaks his own back trying to prove he wasnt wrong.
He pretended Connor didnt get blown up on that TD run when anyone with eyes sees he did. Pollard had great balance and the DT tried an arm tackle but that was a huge miss by Connor against a 2nd team defender. He needs to do better.

Has Williams had issues this preseason? I have not heard about it.

Sua is great at what he does
He’s a backup and a quality back up
He will play out and be gone and we’ve already drafted his replacement
The future at guard is Williams

I have you a like because I agree with most of what you said. However, I disagree with Sua'filo being great at what he does. No he isn't, he isn't a great backup, he isn't even a very good backup. He is ok, just a guy. I don't get the hype this guy gets, he isn't very good especially in pass protection. He has terrible feet

Im pretty SURE the DC Coaches ie the LIne coach and HC and GM scouts and the like KNOW a ton more on whos better..well check that I AM POSITIVE they know more then you guys..:)they are at practice everyday and break down game tape..they would NOT PLAY the lessor player..thats not how it works..

My eye test say Cwill is better in everything except Run blocking and Xavier has slight edge there, we wont know but Cwill has improved according to coaches.

Bottom line you dont trade a guy who was picked where he was and shown he can play and has upside..

the fact they picked another guard at 2 makes me think they see Cwill as backup option for LC at RT given his contract is coming up, give McGovern a year to heal and develop and slide Cwill to RT keep Xavier and looney as backups..likes been said the depth is great right now, dont trade that away especially when you have nothing at Backup QB LOL

Its well know and not really even that debatable that where you were drafted gives you the advantage in opportunity.
If you have a young guy you invested a high draft pick on you do everything you can to prove you were right. Plenty of cases (Erik Flowers ect) started when they had no business even making the team because of where they were drafted.

So this notion is completely false.

However thats not to say Connor is garbage and should be traded.
He also has a higher ceiling.

But the people who don't understand why fans like Xavier need to think objectively. They don't love Xavier they just see Connor struggling and feel that whats best for this football team TODAY is to have the better Guard playing. Connor is a tackle they we are forcing to play guard.
There is a very good chance that this time next year everyone is hyping Connor as our RT when Lael walks.
