I’m willing to bet they don’t lose anyone of consequence. There are creative ways to keep players. Brown will stay on PUP opening up a spot. Gifford and McGovern can go on IR. Crawford could be cut. Someone could be traded. They can go short at QB and safety to open up spots. Then there is always offering a full minimum salary to stay on the practice squad instead of accepting another team’s offer. They have done that before granted it only works after a player has cleared waivers. Every year we talk about all the players we might lose and every year hardly anyone is lost. That’s because every team has more than 53 players they like as well and they concentrate on keeping those guys around who know their system. This year seems a little different because they had a few extra draft picks and some UFA have played well but I’m confident they will find a way to keep the guys they really want.

I'm not sure why so many think he might get traded. There is zero percent chance that happens.

With his cap hit only being $2.7M there are other players that should go if you want to create more cap room.

I think it's pretty clear Rush will be the choice over White if they only keep one of them on the 53, and if they only keep one on the 53 I think odds are very much against anyone claiming White and having to put him on their 53 man roster. And he has no trade value. I think odds are also very much against Taco getting cut or traded, especially after how he played Sunday, and also because of Quinn's suspension.

I agree with the part where you said "this year seems a little different". I think they've added to what was already a very good player roster. Both through the draft, and then through their UDFA's.

Based on those factors, I also feel that this year seems different and that there are in fact a few guys that could be traded or if not, will be signed by a team with less depth at that position.

And I would cut Crawford to keep the young guys Jackson and Jelks.

Considering the backup QB is one of the weakest positions on the team, I highly doubt the QB that is cut is being claimed or is going to be traded.

Armstrong was much better than Taco during camp. Same with Hyder Taco has performed better in the preseason series

If Taco shows up this year then the team will pick up his 5th year option.. He will be the bookend with D-Law. But yeah our D-Line is so full of depth that we wont be able to slip them on the PS without being poached. And the players cut will likely get a job on another team.

His option should be cheap, so they just may pick it up regardless ala Jones
