They absolutely have a choice. They can put that college degree to good use and get a different job. :p
Okay no choice to accept if they want to play professional football, but I wonder if this is a route for the XFL take to gain relevance.

Just goes to show how poorly his brain works. Emmitt did that at the tail end of his career. Nothing similar about it.
Salary cap got them. JJ let him go. I wish we could have afforded him. I think it was a mistake. And I bet JJ wished he could have that move back.

Are all of you this harsh on Elliott going to still be mad at him when he returns and leads the league in rushing again?

I get that we're not happy with him for holding out, but man, I don't see why we're treating everything he says and does as a punching bag. It's like he stole some of your money or something.

Jerry has no way to take it back unless Zeke retires.

I believe the CBA allows the team to recoup amounts of the signing bonus at various points of a holdout. A percentage at training camp, a percentage at the start of the season up through the maximum of this years entire prorated portion at a certain point in the season.

Plain and simple, Zeke is getting nervous and knows deep down that there's a possibility that he could sit the year or be traded. He's starting to crack. It's his idiot agent holding things back. Give him a good contract with incentives and he could still be the highest paid RB without killing the cap or team...

JJ could do a lot worse than that. He could fine him and make him sit for a couple years.

That's the funniest part about this whole thing. Some folks seem personally offended by it. :muttley:

IDK K........Jaylon Smith made almost an identical comment about playing his entire career as a Cowboy and guess what, two days later he signed a new deal.

Never once heard a word about that. The only time I've heard about getting signing bonus back is for retirement. They can fine him $40,000 a day but that creates bad blood and is usually forgiven anyway.

He is required by his contract with the NFLPA do make his where about known at all times...the NFL can test any player at any time, if said player does not take the test or make themself available it is considered a failed test!
So Jerry is playing nice by not having him tested. At this point Jerry doesn't want to hurt Zeke.

Jerry has nothing to do with it...yes the Cowboys do a blood test before and after every season. You’re just way off base on this!
