I agree with Jerry, if we sign Zeke to a new deal, what if he holds out again?

We didn’t care if he slapped around his girlfriend but , OMG, hold out for a few million more and he’s a bad man . Lol

Who is 'we'? Don't bunch me in with the few who think playing football trumps accountability for criminal behavior. He IS a bad man in some ways. His hold out, with 2 years left on a contract, only cements his legacy as a selfish, greedy moron. Some want to compare him to Emmitt while dismissing the fact that Emmitt had just won a super bowl before his hold out. Zeke has done nothing for the team other than cause embarrassment and one distraction after another. Never mind the fact that Jerry has bent over backwards defending him.

Lets take money out of your account and give it to Zeke and see if you have a different opinion.

That’s a harsh view.

What I’m saying is why should he be bashed for looking out for his own self interest? This is the business of the NFL. The Cowboys aren’t bashing him for it, why some fans?
Because some fans are more concerned with the welfare of the Dallas Cowboys than with Zeke's greed, and I'm one of them. I'm a Dallas Cowboys fan first.
If Zeke had dealt as fairly with the Cowboys as they have with him, this whole issue could've been avoided, but he didn't and I'm not going to give him credit he doesn't deserve.

CowboysZone DIEHARD Fan
An elite passer (Brady, Wilson, Brees, Rodgers), a passer on a hot streak (Foles), or an elite pass rush (Giants) / Defense ( Seahawks, Baltimore) seem to be the most consistent qualities.

Each category you named could be an anamoly; unless there are stats to back it up. I do recall games won, due to RB's carrying the load. Please do not forget that fact.

Thats the business of the NFL.
That's your favorite line of the day, but it doesn't change a thing. "The business of the NFL" is the fans, and Zeke is screwing the Dallas Cowboys and pissing off a lot of fans with his greed , lack of loyalty, and off the field idiocy.

I agree. Even though I am against paying him a year early I cannot argue your assessment. But that doesn't mean it has to play out that way. But more than likely it will.

I think Zeke would have been given a new contract next season. I think the offers presented to him are lower than they would have been because he chose to insist on an extension a year early.
Brotha I'm am right with you on paying next season, but I see it clearly. It's like when you go to the park and each captain picks their players. With zeke we are better than every team out there on paper. Zeke isnt doing this, it's his agents. They are smart in this fact. They know we have a superbowl contender and they know that zeke is the guy that gets us there because he has been the engine of our offense. I'll bet Zeke wants to be out there playing but his Agents are probably telling him this is your shot to get big money and be a cowboy for life, and at the same time they get paid big money. That's just my gut talking. The selling point is the cowboys are a superbowl contender with you zeke and Jerry is 76 years old and he wants a superbowl bad. So you need to hold out and get this money because next year this team is going to lose alot of very talented free agents so this could be Jerry's best team in the next 3 years or so. You are the league's leading rusher 2 out of 3 years and by your game by game projection in year 2 you would have been the league's leading rusher. This is what his agents have to be saying.
I would just hate to miss out on this opportunity just because you don't want to pay Zeke an extra million and a half dollars to be the highest paid. 1.5 million dollars is all he needs. I say do it.

Go look at the last 10 Super Bowl winners. What other stats do you want?

Yes. That's why it surprises me when people say Zeke has no leverage. His leverage is as clear as day. Your above post spells it all out. Dallas is a SB contender with him, not without. Among other things.

Zeke may have the trump card in the end.

Against legitimate teams, this offense is mediocre at best without him, and he knows it, Jerry knows it, and the team knows it.

Pollard isn't close to what Zeke is as a player.

What player would? Players don’t usually get in other player’s business. If you can’t see how he’s being a bad teammate, you’re trying too hard not to see it.
If I was Zeke I would sign the latest offer. So not arguing that he is right to continue to hold out.

That said, being a good teammate is overrated — there are a lot of guys on the street today that we’re good teammates.

Then the fans don’t like the business of the NFL.

Amazing how they’re on with slapping women around but don’t hold out for more money. Lol

Yep

If not he’d have no leverage.

he has to come in at game 11
if the team sucks without him, it is not winning the superbowl with him.
the last 3 years have told us that, and finally jerry may have learned

if cowboys are horrid without zeke, they are not a superbowl contender with zeke.

Greed would also be expecting a player that touches the ball 400 times to happily take a pay cut for others. Including guys that are demanding to be the highest paid QB and WR in the league as well.
No, you've completely misassessed the situation.

No one is asking Zeke to take a pay cut. I have no clue where you got this idea from, but it's completely off base.

And this has absoolutely nothing to do w/ greed on the Cowboys part. I have to ask, are you seriously unaware of the salary cap and how hard it is to build a contender w/ the limited amount of cap space?
