These fools spend the last few years drafting run stuffers to stop Zeke. This is their entire blueprint and gameplan. Stop the run, sit on linehans basic playcalling, play in and play out.

But then Kellen Moore happened.

How do you go from years of conditioned traditional defense against the linehan cowboys, to having to get up, move around, and do all this technical **** just to defend one play, but over and over for 4 quarters.

Atleast for this year I believe this will give Dallas a leg up in the division until the skins, giants, and eagles have a whole offseason to study Moore and make a complete transition.

I am very interested in seeing how the eagles and Commanders defenses approach a situation that is not of the norm.

That would have been the perfect game plan for last year's Cowboys offense. For this year's team, not so much.

I think it's largely bogus.

I think the Giants and Skins have drafted based on the schemes of the coaches they put in place, not what the Dallas Cowboys are doing.
I think it is naive to think that teams in our division haven't adjusted to what we do when the entire rest of the league has gone pass happy.

We Zigged while the rest of the league zagged. You can't go against us with a light butt DL....it will get steamrolled. It will match up well with the Falcons of the world...but not us.

I think teams in our division don't base their drafting strategies over what an opponent has done themselves.

This is nothing more than another bizarre way to make oneself feel better about how awesome the Cowboys are. Hey look guys, we are so awesome that we dictated the draft strategies of the other teams in our division because they are crapping their pants over Zeke!

Yeah. No. They have largely drafted based on the schemes in place for all those teams. I mean the Giants are now on a new coach again. You mean to tell me that the Giants front office just drafted based on what Dallas is doing and not what their various new coaches wanted?

We are 14-5 since 2016 in our division. We have won the division 2 of 3 years.

We averaged 121 rush ypg in 2016, 140.5 in 2017, and 120 last year.

If you aren't adjusting for a team who is doing those things...you are an incompetent GM.

Yeah tell that to the giants. Had it been linehan calling that game the giants would have had a better chance regardless of our offensive personel.

The defense would have sat on the offense and played it regularly instead of becoming the confused bunch they were with Moore at the controls.

It going to take more than just one game of tape to figure out moore. That's why I said the cowboys atleast has a leg up this year.

2 games in and we are already knocking out the rivals for a head start.

You are an incompetent GM if you base your drafting strategy on what another team is doing and not what the guy you hired to coach your team wants to do.

First and foremost, they drafted based on the needs and skill sets required for the schemes the coaches they hired need/want. They did not draft primarily on what the Cowboys are doing.

I think they do both. I think the 'need' becomes bigger at NT when you have a team like the Cowboys you have to play twice a year.

It affects priorities in the draft and FA. It has to.

Maybe to a tiny extent but in the end, they draft based on needs within the systems they put in place. I mean it's downright hilarious that you guys think the other teams in the division are having player personnel meetings in the offseason and are like, "Damn, that Elliott, what a load, we need to draft DTs!"

No, they sit around and look at their needs within the system and scheme they play.

This is just another version of blatant homerism....... the other teams are so scared of us and our prowess they base their draft strategies on what the Cowboys are doing! COWBOYZ!!

The only NFCE fun fact I care about is knowing Fletcher Cox is not at 100% and might not be for the whole year. I like that.

I think its very short sighted for a team to try and stop one divisional rival. I doubt that was their plan. Commanders defense is stacked with some solid draft picks over these past years. Its going to take some time but when they all come together they are going to be a threat on that side of the football if they aren't already.

I can only imagine how this board will explode when we struggle to she core 10-14 points... It will happen... Maybe not over the next two of games, but it will happen sometime this year (it happens to all teams)... It will be complete trashing of KM and Dak as frauds.

I believe they will both be amazing at their roles, but there will also be a tew speed bumps along the way..
Of course, it's the nature of the beast.

Really just how much game planning is it going to take to beat the Giants, Skins and Dolphins to open up the season? If we don't start 3-0 we are in for a long season from that point on. We will see what Kellan Moore and this team is really about starting with game 4 and on

Let's relax on Moore. Remember when Garrett became OC in 2007? He was the young and up and coming hot prospect. We started off like 11-1 and our offense looked great and the best it had in over a decade. And then we all know what happened since then.
