I'm used to getting laughed at. LOL I tried to tell everybody Jason Witten will be a touchdown machine this season. Yeah I know I'm a genius. But he could have had three already. He definitely has to. Go Cowboys go Jason. LOL
actually, he is giving us the big redzone threat we all wanted last year and wished Rico would be. he is a savvy veteran, that may no longer be a down field threat, but for getting those short first downs and TDs, fits him perfectly....with two games and 2 TDs, teams now have to account for him, so it should help open p others as he garners attention.....his TDs may drop, but it should help open up others.

Yep just watch. I don't care what he's done in the past this is the future. He can have three already. I say he gets 12 maybe 15 at the end of the season
He is going to get a few more before the season is over. He is deadly in the red zone. He know how to seal his defender and use his size and leverage to get open on short yardage. Speed doesn't do much for you inside the 10. That's where he shines.

He averaged a touch over 4.5 TDs per year during his first 15 years in the league. I know he's off to a good start but the notion that this guy is/was a TD machine (or the solution to last year's red zone issues) is pretty laughable.

We haven't had any red zone problems, and Witten has two red-zone TDs. So I'm not sure why it is laughable.

Has he been the only solution? No. But he's been part of the solution so far.

Both TD’s came on 1 st down. Has Dallas thrown to him on 3rd down so far?

It's laughable because he was never a real red zone threat. His career numbers tell you that. But I know he's a sacred cow so I'm happy to let you and others pretend that he was brought back to address last year's red zone issues.

I don't think he was brought back to address last year's red zone issues. I think he was brought back because none of our other tight ends were consistent at blocking or getting open. If one of them had played like Zach Ertz, Witten wouldn't be here. Instead, we have Witten, who is contributing so far to fixing our red zone issues. That may be more of a product of the plays that are being called, but that doesn't matter, only the end result.

We're not disagreeing.

Jarwin can run everyone of those 2yd routes Witten is running. And Jarwin would be more wide open.
