Anybody here ever met or hung out with another forum member?

Year and years ago (talking like 04/05), a good friend of mine and I stumbled across a general NFL fan page (which has since been dissolved). We became regular posters and we actually ended up making "internet friends" from the site that I actually still chat with from time to time today. Well, this same buddy happened to be in Chicago a few weeks ago and ended up meeting up with one of the forum members we got to know over the years for a beer in person. It got me curious if anybody around here has had a similar scenario?

And no, I'm not lonely and asking to meet up with anybody, just honestly curious.

There was a guy on here a long time ago that went by the handle Dallas. He and I used to frequent an old local (Dallas / Fort Worth) Telnet BBS called Argus. The BBS used to have local get togethers and occasional parties and we met a couple of times at those. I only met him a couple of times before Argus went the way of the Dodo and he and I moved to different BBSes.

I met @cwbyfn88 a while back, and we've actually become pretty good friends. Watched a couple games together at Hooters, with him and his wife. He put the gutters on my house at a discounted rate too.

One of my other sights has a thread with people offering different discounts for members to become paying members which is pretty cool. So you pay 20.00 a year and you might find something to help you out. It's obviously a much smaller sight and we are more like brothers and sisters in arms.

I worked w/ a 'Zoner' for 10+ years until he was forced to quit after being diagnosed w/ a dreaded form of that God-awful 'C' word that I refuse to ever say or acknowledge. Needless to say, he's one heck of a fighter, still a huge 'boys fan and, most importantly, he's still/always will be a huge inspiration in my life. I'm beyond lucky to call him my friend.

I think I can speak for everyone when I say, we hope he wins his fight!

I've seen a lot of people....While hiking in Western North Carolina that looked like Brainpaint.

Impossible. There is nobody with the amount of Backwoods Sex Appeal, running around the country side, BP has going on...........

GQ actually wanted BP for a recent magazine spread but they couldn't get him. They ended up having to go with this guy as a second choice.

Think about that for a second...

I guess any BP will do in a pinch.

The only one I've met in person is GP Cowpolk, the Gipper or just Gip to me. We had lunch by the stadium about 7 years ago.

I think it would be a good thing if there was a thread here with a map or something to let members know where others live, if they don't have a problem with that. Some may want to remain mysterious and in disguise but I'd like to meet some of these folks I've been posting with for quite a few years. And I would agree to leave in a month or soon thereafter or whenever the good liquor ran out, whichever comes first. Just the fact that I would leave when the liquor runs out doesn't mean I took it. Although I would be my first prime suspect, if such an event were to take place.

I am a member of a certain secret society with several zoners.
I would mention them by name but it would put my life in danger.

No. Also, the last time I was in the Carolinas was in Charlotte Airport a few years ago. However it is well known that part of the Carolinas are populated by fellow West Virginians

The Charlotte Airport is populated with West Virginians? Even they won't let them back into the state? That's like an Appalachian remake of "The Terminal".
