Crowd noise at AT&T Stadium

You can tell the fan apathy by the number of towels being waved. There is a white towel on every seat each game. If everyone waved a towel, it would be a whiteout of college proportions, but maybe 1/3 of those towels are waved to start the game then even that dissipates as the game goes on. The Cowboys have been winning at home so there's no excuse for lackluster fandom. Maybe it's just the culture. If so, change it. When LVE makes a play, there should be 100,000 wolf howls going at once.

Half of our fans are to classy to cheer, the other half are holding two beers, so they can't clap or yell because they don't want to spill a drop. Beers are expensive at AT&T!
I'm guilty of all the above at one point or another. In my defense, most of the time I can't get my wife to hold my extra beer because she has beers of her own to hold on to. :p

Fan apathy at AT&T is real. Don't get me wrong, there is a large number of fans at the stadium that are there to cheer on the Cowboys and can get pretty loud, but there is a significant amount of people that are just "there". They never stand and get loud and sometimes you wonder why they are even there.
THIS...EVEN at old Texas Stadium towards the end.. way too many caproate seats , this is pure entertainment for the family for many that attend, not hard core, not A fanantic, and for sure ive even been asked to sit or calm down by some.. imagine my reaction..

its no different for them then day at six flags or the movies and they are busy eating , drinking, talking , and making sure FB knows they are there ie selfie city..the game is background to them..

it gets on my nerves..
when I leave there , I can barely talk, horse from all the yelling for few days..

Jerry priced out fans? The NFL as a whole has priced out fans. Plus it's so much better watching games on TV than at the stadium. This goes for any PROFESSIONAL football game. College is different the experience at college games cannot be topped.

not priced out, simply bought up by Corporations and handed out as bonus's and extras to employees that maybe not even sports fans..most not even the same people twice in the same seats game to game.its just the way a lot of the nfl has gone and we are dead in the middle of extravagance X100 look at me area..

Well not to put this on ya'll, but you fans who are lucky enough to go to the games (I live in PA so not to convenient for me) you should be screaming your heads off and educating (or berating whatever works best) the fans who are doing it wrong.

You can blame some of that on the season ticket holders that resell their tickets to fans of opposing teams.

That's certainly a large part of the problem. This weekend the stajum' will be nearly half filled with GB fans. I can't blame them for wanting to move away from that frozen wasteland, though.

The "wine and cheese" crowd really don't scream as loud as the "blue collar crowd."

I prefer to call them the 'cocaine and boob job' crowd. They're not there to cheer on the team, its all about the social scene. They're usually in the field level boxes and can't see the action on the field anyway. Check this video for some perspective and imagine it on a game day with people all over the sidelines...

It's a 60 yard TV running from 20-yard line to the other 20-yard line.

There are even TV's on each end of the JerryTron for the peeps sitting in the endzones and for the rest in the party pass and standing room only areas..

That sucks. I live 20 minutes from Jerry World...

I've been there many times and it can get as loud there as anywhere. I don't know where you get your information but it is faulty.

Same here, it does get loud. It does not come across as much on TV as it does in Seattle and KC where they pump in fake noise and boost the sound.

Also, and not sure if they still do, the booth at the stadium is enclosed. Maybe they can open the windows. But it is still enclosed more so than other stadiums. So the sound is somewhat muffled.

But the certain fans don't want to hear that as it doesn't fit their narrative.

Also the stadium was designed to funnel the noise down to the field. So in the upper sections you can actually hear the next person to you at times.

6.5 miles, with no traffic and hit the green lights, I can be there in 10 minutes.
Game days, I would take a little different route though, with traffic and lights still 20 minutes. Getting home, 25 minutes, as it takes 5 to get out of the parking lot.

Real fans learn how to clap and juggle the beers between claps. And DO NOT spill a drop.
Now if you are a top notch beer juggler and clapper. You can drink the beers while you are clapping and catch the empty cups. Get refills between plays.

I heard that during the week, if you purchase the extended guided tour. Jason has clapping lessons at the 50 yard line. But unfortunately they only use water in place of beer for the juggling. They don't want beer on the field to something like that.

Now Jerry, he uses JWB, not beer.

In the 3 years I had season tickets at Texas Stadium, and the 7 years at AT&T. I did not see the same people twice on either side of my seats, except 2 games at Texas stadium. Nor in front or behind me either, not that I noticed. But fore sure, not beside me.

However the last 3 years at AT&T I sold 5 or 6 games a year as I was working out of town at the time.

I have never been there so my information comes from observation watching the Cowboys games on TV. It seems that many agree with me.

Just finished watching the Seahawks-Rams game and I am impressed by the loudness of the Seahawks fans. I am pretty sure they had something to do with the delay game and missed field goal at the end of the game, and those plays did bring the W.

I reside in Europe, so I witness lots of noise of fans in stadiums, particularly in soccer games. However, you can hardly ever come across a stadium with the capacity of the At&t stadium. I just don't get it. The stadium accomodates almost 100K fans and it is also a roofed venue that should have a noisier atmosphere. Since I have never been there, I really wonder what the problem is.

Why is our home quiet or at least not that loud?

The stadium is humongous for one, and Dallas is a very transient city. There are lots of fans for many different teams because businesses are headquartered here. DFW is about 60% Cowboys fans at best. Tons of people move to Dallas from all over the country.

Tickets are easy to come by on NFL Ticket Exchange or Seat Geek, and flights are generally cheap and one-way to Dallas. That's why most teams draw about a 25-40% of the fans to the stadium here.

Seattle, on the other hand, is a very isolated city in the northwest corner of the country. Opposing fans don't live there and generally don't travel there. The stadium design also directs sounds to the field, which is actually pretty cool.

I was at the Detroit Dallas playoff game in 2014. It was extremely loud to where I was sitting. My season tickets were the 1st row, 3rd level. so I was not surrounded by fans. And yet it was plenty loud.
However reading threads after the game, people still whined it was not loud. They replay, as I watched it, one could say either way, loud, not as loud as they want.
But at the game, it was pretty dang loud, even in the from row.

Many fans just want to whine about it.
Yes there were times it could be louder, but it is not as quiet as many lead others to think it is.

And they pump in sound. No way that many fans are that loud throughout the entire game. They pump in sound or they use microphones to amplify it. Or both.

I'll attest to that, I was lucky enough to go back when Romo was still our QB, that damn TV just sucks your eyes into it....
Oh yeah, for sure. I've been guilty of it every time I go to a game there also haha (a couple Cowboy games as well as the HS state championship games). Can't completely blame anybody for watching it!
