A DT like Malcolm Brown would do wonders

He has one season in the NFL where he played every game in the regular season, then got hurt in the 18th game of the season. That makes him "injury prone"?
If you pay more attention, you'd have noticed it.

The biggest problem on both sides of the ball is the lack of a true run stuffing DT.

Going to the Saints game, if the DT could have stopped the run then there would have been better field position and more time for the final drove.

yesterday, a good DT doesn’t allow Aaron Jones to score 4 TDs and keeps the game closer until the offense got things going in the 2nd half.

I have been the ultimate players matter more than coaches, but I will say the scheme that doesn’t believe in a true 1T stud is mind blowing.
No, what this team needs is a coach. A good coach can manage and deal with a few weaknesses on the team and still keep them competitive. In this era of salary caps, it is hard to maintain a perfect team. You have weaknesses in all teams, some have the capacity of over shadowing those weaknesses. This team is much better built talent wise than what they have shown in the past two games. Though people say our players want to play for Garrett, there has to be something more in return than just clapping and butt smacking. We need a competent coach before anything else.

I noticed a stupid post calling him injury prone, but I haven't noticed you backing that up. He has one full season in the NFL where he didn't miss a game, but you clearly didn't notice that.

That was a guy I was hoping we would target in free agency but we like our guys
Yeah this was a loaded DT class.

Malcom Brown, Johnathan Hankins, and Danny Shelton where all big sized DT's available for cheap. Even a slightly smaller DT like Magus Hunt would of been a nice upgrade. Hell even the mid tier DT's like Hendry Anderson and McCoy where good values as well.

There's like 8 or 9 DT's available this year for free agency but Front Office: "uh we like are guys even though we have 25 million dollars available and could easily sign all of them if we wanted"

He's been in the league since 16. TENN released him due to injury. He didn't play in 17, I suppose that was due to injury. And got hurt last year, and this year again.

Yup, something is stupid, all right!!!!

Yessir. I couldnt believe with all of those that are clear upgrades we didnt bring in not one of them

And they don't even cost all that much.
It's literally unbelievable. Get smoked in the interior defensive line in the playoffs and literally do nothing to fix it even though it was arguably the most loaded DT free agency class of the entire 2000s and you have over 25 million dollars (which could literally sign 6 or 7 of them if you freaking wanted too).

This is what separates the posers from the contenders. Contenders don't let tens of millions sitting in bank while cheap upgrades to an obvious hole exist (I swear this free agency DT class these DT's where basically signing for free).

Don't know why the front office is scared out of there mind on getting good free agents. This whole "where gonna out-draft everyone and that's it" mentality needs to die quickly

Yes, something is stupid and its your suppositions. He was a UDFA who wasn't injured in 2016 or 2017. He was only listed as waived injured in 2018 so they could try to stash him on IR, they didn't even list a formal injury when he was waived. Dallas signed him so he couldn't have been that "injured".

In 2018 he played every game and got hurt in the Rams game but still stayed on the field.

Stupid post.

For those of you that have all 22 go look at how bad Malik Collins has been vs the run. I mean just wow.

W/ emphasis on "ok".

But an ok starter is still starter quality. If his injury doesn't hold him back, we should expect him to be better this year. And the next. And the next.

I expect DT to be at the top of our draft picks again, and we'll start cheaping out at CB instead.

More like UT is at the top of our draft picks. We only pick one position on the DLine.

Borderline starter quality. Better in a rotation.

Seriously, that is a great idea. We need a true 1 tech DT, and Malcolm Brown would be that. I'd love to see what he can do. Good idea.

Also, a true 1T can help us with getting more takeaways. He'd be good at punching the ball out on run plays. Also, by having a true 1T, he'd be able to force more interceptions because he would absorb a lot of blocks freeing up space for Quinn and Tank. This will either draw more sacks or, with the QB under immense pressure, he's bound to throw an interception or two for us to get.
