Just when it couldn't get any worse losing two in a row to contenders, the Cowboys do the unthinkable and lose to a winless team, it is over. Nothing left to do but talk about the next HC and the draft.

Was this not the perfect storm for a loss? Missing two OT's and one was playing the best ball of the five players. Let's add the Center has not been himself and is still in the process of coming back. Add to this the highest paid OL in the game with four of them in the top six paid at their position and you think they could have depth? Want to blame someone? Blame yourself for thinking that was no big thing. This was the one thing the Cowboys could not stand, weakness in their strength, the OL is the strength of the team.

We see the team without Cooper last season and we get to see it again yesterday, also missing the slot WR, and think that's no big thing?

That phrase, any given Sunday, was made for games like yesterday. Winless team with a QB returning from an illness and this was their SB for so early in the season. They had nothing to lose and felt they had a weakened offense and they are not a team without talent, I'd take that S tandem in a heartbeat. They set out to do two things, slow the RB down and beat the QB up and I'd say they did both.

The Jets wanted that game, needed that game more and they played like it. The Cowboys were not prepared for the difference the QB could make or the fight in that team. They thought this would be a warmup for the Eagles game.

They thought they could play the game that they are among the worst at playing, next man up. One missing starter can throw them off but take 4 off the offense and I don't think many teams that can play next man up will do it very well.

So, the Cowboys are tied for the lead and the season is over? If the Eagles fans feel the same way, might as well let the Giants sneak in and take it.

Nothing, nothing has changed. They are in control of their own destiny and will be playing for the lead in the division Sunday night. A division most likely to send one team to the playoffs and this game, if any Eagles game can be overstated, is the game. Come Sunday night, it won't matter what happened in September or yesterday, this is the game the Cowboys have to have because it's at home and they have to go to PHL in December and they've still got a rough schedule to go.

Let this one go as soon as you can because it has little bearing on the playoff race and this next game has everything to do with that. This game is the key to winning the division which is probably the only path to the playoffs.

Last line says it all. Usually these types of games come later in the season... This one early to go a long way to determining the NFC East going forward...

yes a positive post for once.. my head hurts from all the negativity..im as downs and upset as the rest but the season is far from over..did we not learn from last years 3-5 teams its never over until its truly over..2017 possibly a Dez fumble away from getting back on track..that was worse and we nearly pulled it off..

WE also saw the team with those guys the previous 2 weeks and we got 10 points against NO and 3 points by the end of the 3rd quarter against GB ( i would think that is a big thing too). You are right though the game against Philly is huge and it could mean our season if we lose. It is a big game for sure

Coach, the problem isn't yesterday. It's the last three weeks and much of the Miami game.

Look at the schedule. Philly twice, Minny, New England, Buffalo, Detroit, LA, Chicago and even the Giants suddenly.

This team isn't going 8-2 against that bunch. More like 5-5 at best.

Well for starters, it actually did have some bearing on the playoff race. Common opponents is a tie breaker for the playoffs and the division and right now we are 0-2 against two teams Philly is 2-0 against. So it may become quite important if we split with Philly and end with the same divisional record as them.

I get that it's tough for some of you to admit this to yourselves but the reality is this team is likely just like last year's............. either just miss or squeak into the playoffs and then get bombed out again early.

Everything has changed. This team is no longer a legit contender. Legit contenders don't lose 3 in a row. They don't lose to a winless Jets team because they were looking ahead. You are just excuse throwing at this point instead of just admitting reality.

These games are hard to get over. Even for someone like myself that usually looks for all the positives sides of everything.
Right now I do not see any at all.
Maybe they win Sunday night, but I will not be fooled into believing they got it sorted out.

Georgia lost to South Carolina this weeked, that too being 23 pts favorites. Is Georgia a bad team? These kind of ****** games happens to Patriots, Alabamasa, Clemsons, Cowboys etc.

Did Georgia lost three games in row and look incompetent in all three?

this mentality is the exact reason why the Cowboys have won nothing for a quarter of a century. Losing yesterday probably costs Dallas a playoff spot.... even if they now make the playoffs they will certainly not be a 1 or 2 seed.

Putting this team in with those not a good idea, we can't even sniff their success of recent years.
We are still laughable over the past 20 years or so. Well part of those years was expected to be down years, after the triplets were gone, there was going to be 4 to 5 years or more of bad times.

You liked the extremely rude poster's comment above addressed to CC, yet you have the audacity to address CC?

I didn't want them to be a 1 or 2 seed. If they're going to be in the playoffs, no bye week, they can't handle time off.

There are excuses and there are reasons. Missing the two starting OT's, the 1 and 3 WR are reasons and there are few teams I would expect to overcome that on the road against what they perceive to be an inferior team. I imagine most of those guys were thinking 'well, if we have to play without them, glad it's against this team'. I believe they came in overconfident with a 2 game skid thinking they'd get right against this cellar dweller.

I don't know the reality except I had this team at 5th or 6th in the NFC to start the season and regarding the playoffs, they will still be there if they can win Sunday night. I did not have SF or SEA in the top 4 so some adjusting is taking place but either the Cowboys or Eagles will occupy the top 6 after this next game.

If the Cowboys lose this next game, I won't need to make excuses because I never overinflated the talent level of this team as some did and just thought the D would get better on it's own. The Eagles need this game to springboard, the Cowboys need it to believe.
