Does Frank Gore make you nervous for Emmitt's record?

He is 100 yards away from Barry Sanders and will be probably around 2800 from Emmitt by years end.

Surprising he still gets carries but he is still chugging away. I would think he would get replaced pretty soon!

Nah, he will eventually not be signed by anyone.

Think if Singletary didn't get injured he would of been eating more of the snaps from Gore this year.

Records are meant to be broken.

Emmitt is the greatest of all-time, not even a discussion on that.

To top Emmitt , Frank needs a few rings, a few rushing titles, wear a star on his helmet and then go on to win Dancing with the Stars.
Go Dallas!!!

Who does he even play for? 2800 is still a big #. Won't happen.
Bills - should not happen but just saw that Petersen is close to 6th and looked at the list and was surprised to see Gore close to 3rd

Nah, someone will eventually break Emmitt's record, but that won't take anything away from what he accomplished just like Emmitt's breaking the record didn't take anything away from Walter Payton. I still have mad respect for Payton and always will, and so should any football fan, whether a Bears fan or not.

I doubt Frank Gore plays 3 more years. For someone who tore his knee up in college in a bowl game right before the draft (I think), he has been super. If for some reason Gore does break the record, he will have earned it and I am sure Emmitt would be there to congratulate him, just like we all should do too.

Can't hate on Frank Gore or be nervous about him. Peterson and Gore may be the only two who have the chance to ever break that record. I don't see RB getting that many yards any more on the ground.

Not even slightly. Almost 3k yards is an incredibly large number given his age. It's taken him 3.5 years to hit that number from the start of 2016 until now. Who is going to keep signing him and giving him 200+ carries a year up to age 40 when his effectiveness has already dramatically decreased?

Emmitt's record is safe for now. And I doubt it will be broken for years to come. Despite the resurgence of the running back position, the league currently is a passing league and a substitution league, especially for running backs. I just don't think you're going to see a workhorse back like Emmitt anymore. Frank Gore has had a marvelous, if not unassuming, career. But it would likely take him seven more years to catch Emmitt because Gore has likely seen the last of his 1,000 yard rushing seasons. Question is whether Frank Gore is a Hall of Fame back?

Hard to imagine given the way offense is played these days. The featured "bell cow" back is extremely rare. The Kamara's/McCaffrey's/Barkley's and committees are the future.

It would probably take him 3 great seasons to get 2800 yards.

He just won’t have the opportunity because of his age.

Gore is 36 and he is not going to play another 3+ years which is what it would take to pass Emmitt. Which is assuming he would be able to maintain his average level of play.

No, and I would laugh if he did break Emmitt’s record.
