1st thing, Josh Jacobs is an Animal. As an Alabama Alum, I knew the kid had other worldly potential but wow. Crazy he didn’t start at Bama until the playoffs of his last yr at Bama.

Anyway... Would you have made a trade of -

Zeke & our 2nd RD Pick

for

Oakland’s 4th & 24th Overall Pick’s in the 1st round of last year’s draft?

I know it’s a pointless topic.

Just interested in everyone’s opinions and if you think Oakland would have done it. Also who would you have picked with those Draft picks?

(This trade would be before Zeke’s new Contract and holding out)

Really?

You save the Cap Space and are able to pick up Josh Jacobs who is a promising looking rookie. Really explosive.

While still having the 4th Overall pick to make another addition.

I’m not trading away our RB that just got paid 90 mil for 6 years that led the league in rushing 2 out of the 3 full years he’s been here so far. I don’t care how “great” Josh Jacobs looks.

This would be before he held out & got paid. So no Dead Cap space or penalty.

You must not understand the cap. Trading Zeke this soon after his extension would take up an additional $14.9M in cap room.

This Trade would be before he signed the contract, since it involves the previous draft. Also wouldn’t know how the rookies drafted would pan out.

No way I trade him after that contract was JUST signed. The ink hasn’t even dried yet.

In a heartbeat....Zeke is a walking timebomb of trouble. It's just a matter of time before the next stupid thing he does...then he's worthless to us.

A top 5 pick.....and Jacobs....I think it would have been a no brainer. Plus...your saving money on top of it all.

Are you saying for the #4 and #24 or for Ferrell and Jacobs? Because probably yes to the first, but no to the second.

I know hindsight makes this easier, but I'd probably trade Zeke for Josh Allen/Ed Oliver, Marquise Brown, and $~15m/year.

Since Zeke was holding out, I absolutely would have made the trade.

Then Montgomery/Singletary in the 2nd?

Hmm, tempting.

I wouldn’t have drafted Zeke. And I wouldn’t have extended him for that money. Now that we have, its hard to justify trading him.

The OP specifically pointed out that the trade was to happen before his contract.

I didn’t read that far down. Yes,I’d have liquidated the pick, and then the player, rather than wrapping up that much capital in a RB. Even though he’s a great one. Just way too expensive.

Yup. I love Zeke's game, but the holdout when it was not warranted speaks to greed and poor character.
