Wasting great QB play

I agree with you. He's going to be Romo 2.0 at this point in time. Sunday's Vikings game reminded me so much of Romo's days. Defense and Coaching sucked a*s and Dak had to rally himself and his WR's in a heart wrenching situation to attempt a comeback that ultimately failed.

Might I add that it doesn't help that they are treating this guy like he can become Tom Brady when he's more of a Russell Wilson. When we get a new HC, I really hope he can work with Kitna, Moore, and Dak to come up with some designated run plays and some plays on the run since that's when Dak is at his best IMO. It's usually the coaches decision if he wants to run his QB or not.

I'd pump the brakes on the MVP talk, but Dak has very obviously improved his all-around play, which is exactly what you want to see from a guy who is still only 26.

From a purely football point of view his best move is probably becoming a free agent, but it's hard to turn down $100m or whatever it ends up being.

If I were him, I'd sign elsewhere. Question is, where. What team without a starting decent QB had 3 WR's that are stout. A RB that defenses still plan against.

Not many. Course, if Coop doesn't sign, and I am not sure of Cobb's contract details or if he doesn't resign, that may be the final nail in the coffin. Sick and tired of Dallas wasting good to great players all because the Owner has an EGO problem and can't let go of the power that the HC and a REAL GM need.

Given Brady’s age I could see him in NE

Cobb is a free agent after this season, meaning we wasted him too. Adding all these great players this year, and for what? Jason Garrett to ruin it all. The final nail has already been made. Why else do you think Amari and Dak haven't signed? They're likely going elsewhere and I don't blame them. They're ready to leave this mediocre team.

NE may look for a new QB if Brady retires. They also need new WR's. Dak and Amari may go up there. They can afford it.

If Dak gets this team to the playoffs he will get his 36+. This is going to be a fun ride. Love our 3 wideouts. Unleash!!!!

I'm not having fun. I'm dizzy and ready to puke. Yeah, our QB is who we thought he could be, great news. But our coach keeps blowing games. This is one of the most talented rosters in the league, but they can't overcome this coaching.

Whatever contract number is the holdup another team would pay in a heartbeat.

There are many teams that would love Dak as their quarterback.

What Dak does is really a question of if he cares about money or legacy.

For money you just negotiate a big deal with Jerry and then play out the thread. Which is what Romo did. It's easy to bash this as a fan of football, but you're setting up multiple generations of your family if you just take the first really big NFL payday.

For legacy that's more complicated because it's really hard to trust Jerry Jones and Jason Garrett to set you up for Super Bowl wins, which are the only things that get QBs in the history books. Everyone buried LeBron James for leaving Cleveland the first time because he was a jerk about it with the TV announcement hing, but his underlying logic was 100% right - he needed rings to get respect, so he went where he could get rings.

Of course NFL players can't manipulate rosters like NBA players can by just having 1-2 All-Star buddies join your team with you. But a smart guy can see where the coaching and GM quality is and go there. Because right now Dallas ain't it.

New coach next year. New philosophy. Either way it will be a good offseason. To bad we can't get rid of the real problem. The Jones family.

In reality our receiving corp, which includes TEs and pass catching RBs, is much close to average than elite. Same with our RB, unfortunately.
