Do you think Jerry will assume "we are one step closer" and decides to keep JG? I think everyone here wants to see the Cowboys in the Playoffs, but if it meant keeping JG do you still want to be in the post season? I think if we miss the playoffs it's a 100% chance Garrett is gone, but if we make it does that allow him to keep his job? or will he be fired either way. Please merge if this is considered another "Fire Jason Garrett" thread. Thanks for reading.

He will assume and make an ASSuME. You know the saying.

If they make the playoffs and that is a big if, you are likely looking at 9-7. Very likely the match up is against - Seattle, SF, LA Rams, or the Vikings. Those teams will manhandle Dallas. at home, and on a national stage. I maintain that even as awful as Jerry is he will not be able to give Garrett a contract. That is a 90% probability. Maybe they win. If so, there is a zero chance they get through round 2 and get destroyed by whoever they play.

Garret is a goner.

Not one and done , we will need to MAKE te NFCCG or Garetts gone..

you can read between the lines, lame duck contract, the quotes and look in interviews on Jerrys face after games..you can feel Jerrys already discussing potential new HC for 2020..i can feel it more now then ever, even what hes not saying, but non verbal facial expressions when asked about play calling and the underachieving looses weve had..

Jerry feels we should be 7-2 right now as we do and he can see why we are not..

right now the playoffs looks like a mirage for the dallas cowboys and have you seen those other teams play like the hawks the niners the saints and the packers they couldn't even beat the Vikings at home and they will make the playoffs as a wildcard more than likely

Dont think we are making the playoffs

If Garrett is gone, I personally hope Jerry hires a defensive minded head coach who will call his own defense.
That head coach can pick his own OC or keep Moore who, despite a few learning hiccups, is doing a masterful job in his first year at the job.

I want a new
  • OL coach who serves as run game coordinator
  • New TEs coach
  • New ST coach
  • All new coaches across the board on defense
I do not want
  • A college coach who doesn’t know the NFL and is unproven
  • An internal promotion
  • Another offensive minded head coach who want to change everything
Despite some questionable play-calling at times, the offense is nowhere near the problem the defense is. A top defensive mind should be able to take our talent with a couple additions and do great things.

While I wish Garrett was gone 8 or so years ago. His butt should've been canned after the Jets game. His butt should've ESPECIALLY been canned after the lackluster horrible play of the Jets after that win.

He should just be gone. Period.

We won't make the playoffs. We're too far gone in a stacked NFC along with a rising Philly in the division.
Here you are again. lol. Either way. Garrett is gone. The media and fans are starting to revolt on him and Jerry cannot sell him to everyone again after the huge gaffs this season.

Nope. Garrett is gone without a Super Bowl win. Even Jerry will admit enough is enough.

Jerry has always bent over backwards to protect his golden boy/pet cat.

Firing Garrett, if/when it ever actually happens, would indicate that Jerry Jones was wrong to invest so much time in a bad coaching hire. For a football egomaniac like JJ, this would be unacceptable.

IMO, rather than being “fired”, at some point, Jason Garrett will be offered a reassignment in the organization.

As long as Jerry controls the team, JG will have a job here for as long as he wishes.

Yeah they can make him the towel/water boy. Or if he really wants to make an impact, he can be the team athletic trainer.

LOL!

In reality, I could see JG being given a titular position...say, assistant GM or similar.

Of course, he would still be required to make the daily takeout lunch runs at the Star...and clean the executive toilets.:oops::rolleyes:
