If we make the playoffs

The best coaches find ways to win. Tomlin won with a 3rd stringer qb named "Duck" who started his 1st nfl game. Payton was 4-0 with Brees out and Rivera was 4-0 with Newton out.

That said, what's Clapper's problem, he has his starting qb?! Clapper's job depends on figuring out how to win in less than ideal circumstances like other coaches. He struggles in those situations because he’s a planner.

His strength is long term scapegoating. When he has to work through short term problems, his flaws show. If he can’t fix that flaw, then he won’t be here next year because the Boys won’t win enough games.

Fixed it for you! You're welcome.

..bro, its going to be a dry Christmas in Cowboyland. Buy yerself some Eggnog and Whiskey load up, make the best of it. Maybe Santa will bring us new HC. ;)..

its still possible that the cowboys win the east and make the playoffs but right now there are five teams that are playing for a chance to be in the superbowl in the nfc its packers saints and seahawks in the afc its the pats and the ravens

LOL playoffs. The team is fully constituted and can’t beat a very, very average Vikings team at home.

If we make the playoffs I could bet Garrett doesn't get fired, even if we are one and done.
I agree, listening to the word slobberer today, you’d assume all is well.

I think Garrett is already gone. Even if the Eagles collapse down the stretch and we win the East, the embarrassment we display in the first round will seal the deal.

I do think he will finish the season no matter what because nobody on the current staff is going to turn this around. A decent draft position may even help a quality HC decide to take the job.

Do you think Jerry will assume "we are one step closer" and decides to keep JG? I think everyone here wants to see the Cowboys in the Playoffs, but if it meant keeping JG do you still want to be in the post season? I think if we miss the playoffs it's a 100% chance Garrett is gone, but if we make it does that allow him to keep his job? or will he be fired either way. Please merge if this is considered another "Fire Jason Garrett" thread. Thanks for reading.

If missing the playoffs gets Garrett fired, 100%..............then I am going to be the biggest Lion's fan in the world this Sunday.;)

If that doesn't make me a real fan to the homers, well they can suck it................drastic times calls for drastic measures.

We won't make the playoffs. We're too far gone in a stacked NFC along with a rising Philly in the division.

I hope your are right............I dont trust Jerry to fire Garrett if we make the playoffs, I can see Jerry saying "we are close, we finally made the playoffs in back to back seasons under Garrett. He just needs more time".

I just cant take another 5 yrs of this loser.

This is my worse fear, we make the playoffs and get embarrassed in the first round and Jerry hands Clappy a new 5 year deal.

I would rather lose every game the rest of the season than for this POS to get a new contract.

Three winning teams outside our division. Three losses. Two of those losses as we pigheadedly stick to slamming Zeke up the middle on first down despite the success of passing on 1st down in those games.

The Jets we were driving for the win too, and called a lame-O play on 4th down for the loss. Keep Dak in the pocket against a sure blitz, nothing routes, through to The Ancient One.

Three losses with lots o' lame coaching. Maybe that's Moore, but all those plays fit Garrett's modus operandi.

We'll Be 10-5 by the time Christmas gets here. I'll definitely have a drink or five. Celebration Time! :flagwave:

With this roster, making the playoffs is just the starting point. Garret needs to advance past the divisional round at a minimum to show progress.

Exactly! That goes back to my "bitter sweet" comment.

I don’t think we’re going to make the playoffs. We’re too inconsistent and Philly has an easier remaining schedule. We’ve pretty much killed any chance of getting a wild card with conference losses to New Orleans, Green Bay and Minnesota. Philly has the Giants twice, Miami, Washington and the Cowboys at home. The division is theirs for the taking. I knew when we lost to the Jets that it would very likely come back to haunt us and it will.

Week 16. Philly vs Dallas. Both teams 9-5. Game for the division. Just a feeling.
