I’m usually the “glass is half full” fan. Or if I was Jameis, “full because of air on top of the half full glass”... whatever.

But honestly, after losing the way we did to the Jets, and now the Vikings, this 5-4 feels hollow.

I know why it feels hollow. All our weaknesses continually being exploited with little to no adjustments, especially against the better teams.

Guess I’m still holding out hope for a resurgence like we saw after going 3-5 last season.

It feels hollow because we've haven't done anything noteworthy. I think ESPN or some show pointed out that even the Browns and Falcons have beaten teams that are actually good/great to some degree. With everything else going on around this team, it's going to be depressing.

I agree. Even saying the Jets game was an anomaly, losing to the Saints, Packers, and Vikings is just sad. Holding the Saints to no touchdowns and still losing felt bitter. I honestly thought Dallas was going to score at the end of the Vikings game all the way up until they soiled the field.

Sucks watching a team like the Steelers who started 1-4, just beat the Rams to get to 5-4, with a backup QB. At one point had to win a game with their 3rd string QB because their backup got hurt. Not too mention, RB James Connor has missed some time too.

Steelers defense is stout, I get it, but that says a lot about the coaching.

The thing that's depressing about this team is that they, more than other iterations of this team in the last decade, have had more talent than everyone they've faced. The self-inflicted stuff is just....bad.

Having said that, it means they can still go on a run. They're healthy and only play against one actual good team the rest of the way.

....know the feeling bro, I might just skip a couple of games. Not worth vesting time into this team. Hopefully, I'll hear through the grapevine, Red Jesus had his run and is done.

Here's more. You'd think they were 9-0. o_O

It feels hollow to me because we see the same things over and over and over again. A clearly talented team that only sporadically plays up to its potential. A coaching staff routinely out-coached and over-matched. And a 5-4 record built on the backs of the very worst teams in the league. It feels hollow because it is hollow.

if we lost to superior teams, im fine with that, losing to teams we had no business losing irks some of us, i know there is the 1 or 2 games, but we are past that for no reason.

but it will continue. the fans just have to learn.

3-0. Hot out the gate.
0-3. Turns stone cold.
2-0. Getting warm again.
0-1. Cold again.

Team has the flu. Get anitbiotics stat!
As a nurse, I have to correct this treatment. The flu is a virus, and you don't treat viruses with antibiotics. Antivirals, like Tamilflu, is what is needed!! Ok....now you can go back to your regularly scheduled program. LOL :p

You have faith in a "run" that I don't have. They've given me no reason to have it given their maddeningly inconsistent play.
