Twitter: Broaddus done as Cowboy employee

I knew he was gone after watching the post game show last night. Nate Newton was clearly referring to Broaddus but would not mention him by name. He said something like "the analyst who used to do the show with me". It was odd. Almost like they were told not to mention him by name...

Anyway this is a big loss for the media team. Didn't always agree with him but he definitely worked his tail off to provide info and analysis. They have no one on staff to replace him.
He went always right, but I appreciate unbiased commentary.

Mickey is excellent when he shares information about the team. His analysis is not good, though, and he’s terrible when he has to deal with someone disagreeing with him.
I've listened to Mickey as much or more than you and I've not made that observation about his analysis. So he's not diplomatic about someone calling him a liar, who is?

In the two videos where Mickey and Bryan are feuding, they he look on the other two guys' faces (especially Bill Jones) tells you that there is known tension between the two.

Yeah....that looks like 2 guys that just can't work together anymore. Total lack of respect on both sides. Sad that it came to that.

You guys are seriously lost on this. Mickey has nothing to do with it, use your brain here why would they argue to the point of someone getting fired.

I was around for a good one 2 seasons ago. Mickey had left for rest of show...it happens with those two.

Diplomatic? He’s condescending most of the time. Even in his articles. In his mind, his job is to correct the ignorant fans—and that’s everyone.
That's your personal spin of how Spags comes across. If that's how he came across to everyone else he wouldn't have kept the same job for over 30 years. So it's just you a few minimal others that think that.

One of Mickey's stock articles is "this is what dumb fans think, but I'll tell you why they're wrong".

I've never thought of him as arrogant. Mainly just annoying. Too dumb to seem arrogant. He'd be the first guy I would vote off the island of the media crew.

As for "how could he have stuck around for so long if he's so bad?", see Garrett's career on details for how that works.

Another Garrettism: the guy that clashes with Mickey gets shown the door.

I can't tell if you're talking about Broaddus or Mickey.

It has always amazed me how that Jerry Jones doesn't really care much about how his site www.dallascowboys.com looks than he does. These idiot reporters that he hires are not worthy to work for a small town newspaper let alone the premier sports franchise in the world. The grammatical mistakes that regularly appear in their articles are embarrassing. But Jerry doesn't care.

I'm pretty sure the head of this organization's marketing, Charlotte Jones, is more responsible for the editorial foundation of the teams website. Albeit the editor themselves. Lol!

Yeah, this is a big loss for DC.com. I can understand that he rubbed some fans the wrong way, but I always enjoyed his insight. Unlike the majority of the journalists at DC.com, he seems willing to be honest without being (too) disrespectful. The biggest loss is The Draft Show. Even if they reconstruct the show, it just won't be the same without Broaddus & Brugler. That was a gem that they probably never realized was going to be huge.

I always listened to whatever daily DC podcast Broaddus was on, so the good news is I can stop listening to Talking Cowboys now. I cannot take Mickey anymore one single bit. Just a cranky man who thinks he knows better than everyone else because he's older than his colleagues. The slightest criticism of the coaches or owner and he lunges for the throat. I also didn't care for his response when the caller asked the show about Broaddus last week. I know he probably wasn't aloud to just tell the truth, but he just came across rude, while other journalists approached the topic respectfully these last couple weeks. The recent TC episodes have been absolutely brutal without Broaddus.

I switched over to listening The Break this week now with the Broaddus news finally out. Forget the cast there, just the fact that Mickey isn't on there makes it immensely better.

I listen to Talkin' Cowboys because I like Mickey's views on the team and I like Rob too. I've been watching the show long before Broaddus came on.

Odd if that is really the reason. Their "spats" I thought were very entertaining and original. Gave the show some life. Maybe it was a constant complaint thing going on behind the scenes though with mgmt.

Doubt that is the reason though, two older fellas having a disagreement. Didn't at least appear or seem to really carry over imo.

Don't think it will be the same without him. Seemed like each individual show wanted BB as well.

Odd stuff

Hate see Broaddus go his information was interesting. Gave some insight but was not spot on, even when I knew he was wrong, he still gave me food for thought. I like reading Mickey’s articles. Out of the reporters thru out the years I find that Mickey brings the most common sense, rational and his information is more to what is really going on than anyone else. Mickey , Brad Sham, Laufenberg, and Nick Eatman are the guys everyone should really pay attention to when they want to know what is really going on. Oh, Slater is another on.
All the rest of those clowns you’re going to get more of what they think should happen, or what they don’t like, basically they try to make you think they are the experts

good, Mickey gives you the real deal. Others don’t like him because he does not go along with the blaming of this or that person. He gives us the truth and a lot of people in this world can’t and don’t want to hear the truth because it is different from their own pompous opinions
