All the Zeke Hate, but the problem really is the offensive line

But the line was creating gaping holes too. This year’s O-line has been pretty average, to not so good.

The whole “one of the best O-lines in the NFL” does not apply anymore.
Correct. This is the bigger issue. Yes, Zeke has lost some of his top end speed. He takes a lot of punishment. But, if the line were blocking the same as before, we would not be having these discussions.

7 in the box against 11 personnel is a loaded box, and teams do that almost exclusively.

You're not paying attention if you don't think that's part of Dak's success this year.
Yep, they have been doing it against Dallas since 2016. Yet somehow Zeke feasted. Why? Maybe, the OL had a lot to do with that....

You mean when he was able to run straight line and needed to make virtually nobody miss? Best you can say is he made great catch there.
Haha. Reading comprehension alert.... I didn't say Zeke is or has ever been great at making people miss. That has never been his strength. HOWEVER, Zeke has plenty of burst and speed and he showed it on that pass play. That and a great catch.

All of this Zeke hate all over the place is unfounded. The REAL hate or criticism should be directed squarely to the offensive line.

The offensive line has sucked royally for weeks now. They are the ones looking fat and slow. They are getting routinely pushed backwards off the line. It is alarming how poorly the ENTIRE lot of them are playing. Every running play they are getting manhandled.

Yet, on passing plays they are doing well. Weird huh? Yeah. But then watch again and it seems that the way they are blocking on run plays is no different than how they block on passing plays.

Why?

I see no movement forward on running plays whatsoever. Frederick is a liability on running plays. He is usually getting pushed backwards. Collins was also. Even Tyron Smith is getting pushed backwards or at least stymied. Oh wait, not Martin too. Yeah Martin too is not getting enough push.

I really do not understand what people expect Zeke to do? Should he stop and spin and run outside like Barry Sanders? Well, he is no Barry Sanders. But it would take someone with equal swivel hips as Barry Sanders to do well with this line. Dallas OL has regressed BADLY.

Question, is this on Columbo? Does Moore have anything to do with this? Whoever is at fault, needs to be fired. This OL is a liability on running plays. No RB will ever flourish behind this line the way it is currently blocking.

I see your point, but I think it’s a combination. A little regression on the OL, a few weak play calls, AND Zeke a half step slow with just the slightest hesitation.

That is reasonable. It certainly is NOT all on Zeke like so many are saying. It is mind boggling how they can say it is all on Zeke.

You can go right ahead and ignore the actual data about this OL if you want.

The running game has been inefficient against teams who decided to stop it since Thanksgiving 2016. Nothing has changed since then.

Yep .. OL isn’t All Pro this year . Due much to lingering injuries. Overall it’s over-rated. Much like Elliott. And much of the hate is from Dak slobbering fans.

What is the saying? Stats are for losers? Or something like that. Bottom line is, the OL is not getting it done period. Until they do, Zeke will struggle. If I were Bill, I would play 6 maybe 7 in the box but no more and play against the pass. I just would not fear this OL anymore to make holes that Zeke would hurt me through.

They are getting it done. The offense is - checks notes - number 1 in the league. The OL ranks #3 in the league in both categories that matter. Eye test is fine, but yours is wrong.

7 in the box is a loaded box against 11 personnel lol. It's exactly what the Vikings and Lions did.

You obviously don't study game tape. The O line is opening holes for Zeke to run through, he just doesn't get through the hole fast enough anymore. Pollard still consistently gets through the holes so that's proof they exist. I recommend you get a game pass and review this years games in slow motion. You'll clearly see what I just told you.

I was shocked to see even Jessie Holley making this very point yesterday on "Hangin' With the Boys".

No, you are not seeing it. Not sure why. Some agenda getting in the way???? Only you can answer that. However, film doesn't lie. Feel free to watch this video breakdown comparing the OL from 2016 compared to 2019....Get ready to see the light lol

Absolutely, no doubt. but I don't really think it is worth the effort to bother with them!

Most Problems have multiple causes
I think this is the same
The online is beat up and Fred is not back to form
Teams are playing the run and zeke doesn’t seem to be in a groove as before
Hopefully a couple more 400 yard passing games and players getting healthy fixes it

So are you gonna trust next gen stats for your loaded box or are you gonna listen to the coaches that tell you their number 1 focus is stopping Zeke. Because # in the box does not tell the true story.

I'm going to trust what actually happened. Not what the team says they wants to do(which would be stupid to reveal their scheme) or the owner thought they did from the sky box.

Yes # in the box does tell you if we facing a loaded box which is what was being discussed.

And if you have every coach we've faced tell us after the game that they focused on stopping Zeke you should start linking those quotes now.

Zeke shares responsibility in this as much as anyone else.

Moore and Zeke need to figure this out.
