Another season or 2 I can see this team being a legit contender if they keep the key players.

I don't believe the Cowboys have all of the players to reach or win a championship. The defense continues to get run up the gut every week because they don't have a big hole-plugging 1-tech at Defensive Tackle. Blame it on Marinelli, the scheme or whatever reason. The bottom line is the Cowboys D keeps getting run up the middle due to a lack of size inside.

The D secondary also keeps giving up big chunk pass plays, so our whole secondary still seems questionable. Doesn't seem like the Cowboys have a Defense that is Super Bowl ready or of quality yet.

On Offense, Amari Cooper is playing injured. He's not at 100% nor likely will be for the rest of this season, and that's if he finishes it. Gallup and Cobb have a tendency to drop passes, especially on key downs, at times. The Oline plays on and off half of the time, with most of the Oline playing injured. This has affected their run blocking, which in effect has direly affected Zeke's running. Does that sound like being Super Bowl ready?

Lastly, if Dak were to suddenly sustain a serious injury, does anyone believe Cooper Rush could lead the team to the playoffs or far enough to reach and win a Super Bowl?

Interior defense is still a huge problem. Tackle, Linebacker, Safety.

Fix that then post this thread again.

Agreed. It's like baseball - being weak up the middle is a recipe for disaster. The Cowboys have been deficient at all three levels up the middle, and it's going to take more than "want to" for that to change.

However, dallas does not need an elite defense. They just have to score more points than the other team. And there is always luck. It is a big maybe until they are booted out of the playoffs.

Jeff Heath has missed two games. And it's our scheme. Rush to the quarterback let the linebackers handle the Run. Make no mistake about it we have the players. But I've been asking for a solid defensive tackle for 7 Seasons now

Funny that I see a lot of people talking about what a great roster we have but there are constant threads complaining about how bad and beat up our O line is, how Zeke can’t run without a pro bowl O line and how Dak sucks which is 50/50 on this site. So we have Amari, Gallup and Pollard. Where is all this other talent because from looking at most of these threads we don’t have much. I’m not talking about coaching either, I’m talking about players getting physically beat.

Defense is the same. Alleged Pro Bowlers all over the place but there are several players making grade school mistakes that can’t be coached. Where is the talent?
