What is wrong with our run game?

it's our blocking schemes on running plays. they've been figured out. time to return to good old smash mouth football. no more zone blocking.

I actually thought it was the other way around .. more emphasis on middle interior man up power runs ...and less on pulling, trapping as we don't seem to get that 2nd level of blocking as
we used to.

agreed. Oline isnt moving anyone. it almost seems like we’re pass blocking even when we run.

They've never really been "movers" or road graders as a unit. Travis and Martin are technical blockers and among the best. Tyron is strong but you won't see him drive guys like a Larry Allen would. La'El showed some burst at the point of attack. It is when these guys are in plays that allow them to be mobile or seal off a lane where they really excel. Seems like we moved away from that or there's just too much traffic as teams are committing to stopping the run.

Selling out to stop Zeke has its advantages though so I'm all for them letting our WRs get 1on1 situations.

Teams are playing run first. Forcing Dak to beat them, and he is. Once teams stop cheating the run the run game will be back to dominating. Elliot was 3 straight 100 yrd games before the last 2.

No push, Offensive line seems to have lost the will or ability.

good pass blocking but run blocking has been awful.

Which isn't actually unusual for us... But, it seems that when they key on zeke, and we don't block... you get that double whammy lol.

It isn't that these guys can't run block though... Something else is going on. Like they just don't seem to be trying to block in the same way. As if that offensive line coach change, tried to change too much in technique, etc...

I think this might fall on Colombo, and the coaching staff.

With trying to look like you are passing, even when you are running it, I feel like they are coming off the ball in a way that just screws us.

Frankly, if we are going to run... run it... run block it, don't even try to give that feel of "we might pass."

I feel like they are asking the offensive line to sell the possibility of a pass as well, and it is just screwing everything up in the run game.

Zeke is done. Book is out on him, he is over the hill, and we have a better RB younger on the roster. Its just a matter of time now.

yet I've seen Pollard brilliantly slipping and weaving into cracks and lanes - especially in the interior, how could Tony be doing that if the blocking wasn't there?

Oline is blocking fine. Pollard and Dak dont have a problem with the blocking. #1 offense in football.

Cmac---- I believe also this is a benchmark game for cowboys...in fact a solid win over Patriots at Gillette stadium would announce we are in the mix who might win it all?....we saw our team turn around significantly last year...if somehow our Defense could be strong again?...let me ask you this....I have been thinking the NFL in reality has just figured out Marinelli and Richarrd defensive format...too many teams have ran over us this year..and also along with our slow starts we have been taken advantage of too easily...so what are your thoughts on whats needed going into Gillette this weekend?

Gorico…..1. Being tuned in mentally to minimize mistakes; Play up to the matchup. (Coaching) 2. Hard task to out-master Bellichick, but at least toss some unpredictability in. (May be too much for KMoore). 3. Give everybody what they want....More Pollard but also utilize Zeke in the passing game. 4. Sit Witt down for Jarwin. Don't need Tavon Austin running routes. 5. Smash mouth is the order but the run game has been shaky. Find a way. Test manhood. (Can we get a FB on occasions as the lead blocker?). 6. Defense is what it is....until the Draft brings speed we in trouble on that end. I expect Brady to slice & dice all game.
