Blokes, wayward boys, wards of the courts and contractors, let me count the ways why it will be Meyer.

1. When Jerry let it slip a Meyer kind of guy was needed, Meyer was profuse in complementing Jerry and the franchise.
2. Meyer is retired, no permission slips needed from owners or colleges.
3. Meyer is a "name" a high-profile kind of gernius Jerry would want.
4. Urban Meyer could be seen as a gruff, no-nonsense HC players would not want to cross.
5. Meyer wants to get back into football in a big way (Dallas).

Now, ruffians, how can Jerry resist a well-known, high-profile coach like this?

The big question is cash UM make the leap from college to NFL?
Who cares? Me thinks Jerry's mind is made up.

The bigger question to me is whether Urban can co exist with Jerry’s meddling. Like Parcells, I can’t picture this relationship lasting long. Jerry constantly interfering and Meyer’s history of hanging it up for alleged health reasons makes me question the durability of Meyer. We better hope he wins big in a few years or he’ll probably move on to his next project.

For the record, I stated several months before this rumor even started that Urban would be my top choice, especially over Riley.

Agree on these points. Do like that it sounds like won't be a whole new system for Dak. I personally wouldn't mind keeping Moore honestly. Would be interesting to see what the offense would look like without handcuffs given that it is producing a lot of yards and points already.

Do wonder if he can make the jump to the NFL. That would be my biggest question. Also would have to interview folks so will be interesting to see who else they interview.

All indications are that Jerry Jones will still be running this team in the foreseeable future. Head coach? Does it matter if Jerry continues the “formula” of the last 24 years?

My only hesitation with Meyer is his age/health issues. Riley or Rhule would be just better possibly long term if they are the real deal. Guys that can stay a long time. I think Meyer is a great football coach but it would be nice to get a great football coach who is young and could stay for decades if they are right. We'll see I guess.

Jerry is so close to the afterlife he doesn't have time to waste. He needs a HC that can win s SB now with this talent.

You youngsters may have to google the term "urban renewal" but it may work here.

He has won everywhere he has been. But he don't stay long. He is what Lincoln Riley aspires to become as a coach. I think he would succeed. But I wonder if win or lose, in four years we are looking for another coach. Lincoln Riley is boom or bust. I think Meyer may be a very good coach here.

If we win #6, I’m ok with him being here four years

I'd be fine with Meyer for no other reason than he's not Garrett. This talk about him being a disciplinarian and a guy players won't cross is completely unfounded though. He's notorious for allowing his players to run amuck.

He brings some name recognition and I like that. I think guys might be excited to play for him. I think his best asset will be his ability to teach his assistants though--something Garrett is notoriously lacking at.

Dude has a cyst on his brain that has impacted him during games. I'm not a doc, so maybe this can be treated in some ways, but that to me is a pretty big issue. I don't think it is life threatening, but the dude was on his knees during one game last year due to it.

We he was at Florida, he did a segment on ESPN saying how much pressure the coaching job is. Imagine the pressure he would have being under Jerry and tolerating Jerry's kids.

Looks to me like Garrett after a special teams play. Could be wrong though.
