But a head coach has to fight the battles he can win, and where Garrett has failed is in his "Let's try this" philosophy.
Garrett has failed to give the team direction and instill the drive needed to achieve greatness.
Because he doesn't understand it.
The Cowboys have had an assortment of great players;
Without the right direction, they were bound to fail.

I think there is more to the Cowboys — it is easy to say as an owner or a general manger or as any one else in the organization, ‘oh, it’s coaching.’ It runs deeper than that. There have been a lot of coaches that have come through the organization and the results have been pretty familiar from one season to the next overall.

I agree that you have to take a hard look at everything, but I think just saying 'we have this great roster and it’s all about coaching," I think that’s a little bit of a cop out.

I agree it's not 100% coaching. However, it is certainly an important piece to getting Superbowls. Great coaching takes lesser talent, and makes it better.

This team may not be "loaded", but it is certainly not void of talent. There's no excuse for not consistently being in the playoffs at this point. Especially in the NFCE.
