Hmm, so it’d be 10-6 with another division title (4th in 6 years)...

Yeah, I could see that.

I never know how to react to these, BTW the liquor store clerk was actually right, so not beyond scope that this is true. But I still doubt it.

Dallas isnt winning out so we will see. I think JG stays no matter what though tbh

Imo anything less than 10-6 and a playoff win is a failed season.

This old man that goes to the local bar has long talked about his contacts with the Cowboys and says he personally knows Garrett. His stories are believable over the years as they are correct many times. I should add that he is not a drunk, usually has no more that two beers, while I have as many as I can fit down my neck.

Anyway, tonight we are talking Cowboys and he told me he has it on good authority that Jerry told Garrett that if he wins out he will get a new contract. He said winning in the playoffs would not be a condition.

The old guys knows I hate Garrett, we have discussed that for a few years and he understands why the fans are sick of him. But, he says he knows him and he backs him all the way.

If this is true it goes to show that Jerry really is not interested in winning big, but only interested in keeping his organization as is. As long as the Cowboys have a winning record and seemingly have a chance Jerry is happy. It is all about the fans deep pockets.
Some of us have been saying for awhile now that he’s not going anywhere. We’ve also been saying that the only thing Jerry listens to is his pocketbook. I would be very surprised if we have a new coach for next year. Meanwhile, the fans will eat it up. Get all excited for the draft...Jerry will sell them (once again) on the latest and greatest and the fans will flock to buy merch and tickets like they do every season. It’s really our fault.

I would believe him because he works as a janitor in the stadium.

He also said that he knows Garrett’s mother who is a moderator on a Cowboys fan forum . Wonder who that could be?

:omg:

Well I guess for our sakes it’s a good thing we aren’t winning out. We won’t even win tonight. Oh and can I get a pic of the old mans wife? Lol!

Interesting stuff, so if we lose tonight JG is out, or will the story change to 9-7? Could you ask him for me tomorrow night?

I must say I'm not shocked that a local liquor store and bar guy know more about the Cowboys...considering the owner and his drinking habits.

I wouldn’t surprise me. JJ looks for a reason to keep him. Winning out likely won’t happen. Let’s see how the excuse changes then.

Ok you didn’t win out but if you win 1 playoff game your in.

1. We all already knew that Jerry is an arrogant fool who runs the program off emotion and his own personal feelings. This story didn’t tell us anything new.

2. the cowboys aren’t going to win out.

I do not doubt for a minute that Jerry WANTS to keep Garrett as HC. But, he is hearing the "pundits" talking about how the Cowboys have so much more talent than their record shows. He is hearing the criticism of Garrett and his game day mistakes. I am sure he hears Troy Aikman and Dez and others talking about Garrett and it bothers him. I have said all along Garrett will be the coach until he becomes a personal embarrassment to Jerry. Only then would Jerry fire Garrett. The Cowboys record is not going to do it. But the criticism has started and it will snowball if the Cowboys lose. Watch. If the Bears beat the Cowboys tonight, and I think they might, the criticism will be even more intense. Jerry will field more questions about Garrett's future. Jerry love the mic in his face but not when it means having to be accountable for a lousy football team.

If the Cowboys win out, Jerry will say it was because Garrett turned things around and he will keep him. If the Cowboys lose out or lose the division, Jerry will have no choice but to fire Garrett because the media will be making Jerry accountable.
