I mean maybe, but hypothetically speaking couldnt a new staff draft a QB and acquire a reasonably priced vet backup as well and avoid the even one year 25-30 mil franchise tag?

I mean what if they did give Dak a one year franchise tag contract but it blew up when the draftee or vet backup outplayed him in training camp and actually “earned” the right to start over Dak?

Not saying your option is totally off the table but I would explore ALL options before even committing one year at that price.

I am a Dak fan, but I'd be OK with this. I want a winning team, If Dak is the QB, that's awesome, but I don't care who it is.

Even if Bill Belichick or Sean Payton said they didn't want Prescott, the Jones boys would tell them thanks for their time and show them the door.

Any HC hired would be told that Dak is the QB and then asked what is your plan to win with him at the helm...

Why tag him and pay him the average of the top 5 QB salaries? He'll get signed.

If they do this, they need to go high on a QB in the draft. Get that guy before you need that guy.

One thing troubling about his play is that when the pressure builds up, he reverts back to that inconsistent accuracy guy.

However, I like the idea of tagging him and having another coaching staff evaluating him but we don't know the future of Kitna and Moore or if Moore is part of what the new HC has to accept. The present one had to.
