So..same as the last few years? Got it.

Actually, alcohol related vehicular manslaughter is a little bit bigger than county though, right?

The NFL has an issue with behavior, to act as if it's just one team or one coach is a bit silly. Especially considering some of the most recent cases.
Absolutely it’s league wide but Jerry is notorious for putting aside and/or ignoring character issues in the name of winning. How has that worked out for us? This isn’t the 90’s anymore, there is a bigger crackdown on behavior and with iphones and more social media it is something that should be taken more seriously even if it’s “small” by some individuals standards.

Out of curiosity, where would it stop with you? Would you support a convicted pedophile as HC? What about a guy like Paterno who had a pedo on his team but turned his head the other way in the name of winning? Would that be ok with you if it brought home a Lombardi?
Who cares about this made up nonsense, these guys will never coach the Cowboys so why even ask this crap? So you can pretend you're on some moral high horse?

No and and honestly I completely agree. Where do we stop? Hell, we're all heathens because we enjoy entertainment from a company that willingly employs DA participants, both women and children..and even a "slap on the wrist" for killing someone..drunk.. behind the wheel of an automobile.

It's almost to the point to where you can't really cut off anymore, until is pedophilia in a massage parlor on an island out by Florida..oh wait..

The whole league is a joke.

If Meyer is our coach you’ll see a better prepared and more focused team week in and week out. You’ll see a team that plays with a hard edge that plays all four quarters. You’ll see a team that makes adjustments and gets its best players the ball in space. You’ll see a team whose schemes best fits its personnel and that are best suited for success in today’s game. And most importantly you’ll see a team that has leaders and that expects to win every week and just finds ways to win even when it doesn’t look like they will. In short you’ll see a team that is everything this team isn’t nor has been on many, many years.

I'm increasingly convinced that Jerry is going to hire Urban Meyer. It makes sense. I don't think Lincoln Riley would want any part of this. I wish they'd look at Matt Rhule, but I don't think they are. Established head coaches like Sean Payton would want complete control.

Meyer has a bevy of ready former assistants out of work right now, and there's a good chance he'll retain many of the existing coaches like Kellen Moore. I think Jerry wants that. I don't expect Meyer to be here long - he never is - and Jerry wants in-house options sooner than later. In fact, I think Jerry wants this to be over quickly, just like he did with Parcells.

"Please fix this and leave." That seems to be the corner Jerry has painted himself into. Again.

Meyer is a CEO-approach coach like Garrett in that he won't call plays. He does have a big personality like Jimmy, who didn't call plays either, and he'll rule with intimidation and force, which is fine in general.

But what kind of team are we really going to have under Meyer?

He is without scruples. He had 40 players get arrested while he was at Florida. He ignored violent and repeated spousal abuse committed by one of his assistants at Ohio State without saying a word. He tolerated multiple incidents by Zeke, which became so intense that Joey Bosa had to change roommates. It's a common theme everywhere he goes. His programs are like circus freak shows, and it'll be harder to contain these "secrets" in the NFL than it was in college back then.

However, he does win, by whatever means necessary. So there is that. I expect he'll do that here more consistently, and he's a big enough presence to command attention from players. He'll take no gruff from Jerry on the football decision front. I like that, and I don't think he'll spend time blowing sunshine up his players backsides like Garrett and Jerry do constantly. More to like.

But there's the other ugly side, I fear.

Meyer wouldn't blink twice about bringing in Greg Hardy. He'd do it over and over if he thought he could win. He doesn't care about "right kind of guy" whatsoever, as long as the production on the field is there. Doesn't care about reputation or image the team projects. He cares about winning.

Imagine a roster full of Burfict, Beckham, AB, Incognito, Hardy, and Tyreek types.

I don't expect players like Amari Cooper and Byron Jones to respond well to him. Not sure about Dak or Leighton. I wonder what Zeke thinks? I do think it would be good for a few players who need a swift kick in their derriere.

I'll give it this. It will be VERY different than the past 10 years. For everybody. Including Jerry.

That is, in the very least, interesting to ponder.

Nice take! The part about embracing anyone that wins despite character flaws caught me the most. We have more than enough bad attention, and everything we do, no matter how ordinary, is magnified WAY out of proportion. Mountains out of molehills, and it’s getting worse every year. There was talk of Belichick coming here—can you IMAGINE how much indignant screaming and outraged editorials and public outcries and all the endless handwringing there would be if all the “cheating” scandals dropped into The Star? Wearing a ball cap with a star on it would become something akin to a red hat.

If you consider not supporting those you beat women, support beating women or knowingly ignore those who do beat women being “pretending” to be on a moral high horse then maybe you should reconsider your own morals.

I’m sorry, are hypotheticals not allowed here? Isn’t that what 90% of the threads and responses here are? Those guys will never coach here, huh? Is ignoring that a member on your staff who you know physically abuses his wife that much better than ignoring a pedophile on your staff? Maybe you should become a little more familiar with Urban and why he really left Ohio St. Take a look at Florida while your at it.

Funny and ironic how his “health” always pops up as soon as certain allegations do as well.

I’m not going to assume that Urban would bring in the Burfict’s and AB’s of the world. I do think Urban will be light years better than JG.

And JG with his “Aw shucks” looks, incessant clapping, and RKG crap still coached a team that I believe led the league in player arrests and suspensions for a period of time.

If you thought the Cowboys were a circus under Garrett with all of the suspensions

Whew boy, you haven’t seen anything yet with Urban at the helm

Goodell must be salivating at all of the punishment he’s going to dole out
We cant possibly have more suspensions than we already have every year

Awesome. I'll take him.

From what you're telling me, he'd make Zeke back into the old Zeke, and would put a stop to all the BS. I'm all in.

Plus, Meyer would have insight into incoming college players. We'd have about 3 years of great drafts.

Urban Meyer is a God among coaches. For those of you not familiar with him I suggest you watch the video I attached. The guy is nothing like the weak minded and totally fake Jason Garrett. I love Jason Garrett as a man of character, but his flaws have enabled him to take on a chameleon role with the cowboys which is unflattering. What I mean by that is Garrett will be the tough guy when the camera's are rolling throwing out fake F bomb after F bomb, only to smile like chester cheetah and say all the canned and processed things during his idiotic Jason Garrett shows. The guy is complete phony as a coach but much like Jerry a great salesman of himself!

Watch Urban in this video and you will see what a real coach looks like and why if we can land him we would be stupid not to.

No wonder he wins everywhere. Nobody was dozing off during that talk.

So we are now comparing urban to paterno? Is that how far we have come. I am just saying. Urban isn’t these people. And used bill as an example. Would you take belichek?

Hopefully like a team that’s prepared to play 4 quarters of football and not 1 and a half

Haskins sucks! There is a reason it took so long for him to get playing time...And who is gonna QB in Carolina? Mcaffry is gonna get run into the ground...Look at Zeke and he is much bigger ....Commanders are a complete train wreck...as crazy as it may seem...Snyder is 1000 x's worse than JJ...and that's saying a lot....

maybe Carolina gets a new QB? Wouldn’t you want to go somewhere where you can hand pick the QB?

but you’re right, Snyder is much worse than Jerry, not a good example
